Hello.

I converted the original H4 headlights on my Caddy Maxi 2.0 TDI 102 hp to H7 headlights. Subsequently, I recoded the vehicle's onboard computer in byte 18 from "Caddy H4 RDW" to "H7 RDW".
Following that, I changed bit 1 of byte 11 from 1 to 0. This causes the low beam headlights to remain on when the high beams are activated. Then, I coded the rear wiper as "not installed" because I removed it. So far, everything has worked correctly with those changes.

The only drawback at the moment is that the cold monitoring system is now showing a short circuit to positive on the left reversing light (M16). However, the vehicle doesn't have a reversing light on the left side; it only has one on the right.

The rear fog light is the one that's malfunctioning on my car. All other lights in the back are working as they should. I tried resetting all the settings, but the problem persists.
Unfortunately, not all the information is available, so I'm wondering if anyone might be able to help me figure it out...

Best regards, Andreas.

Hello,

Before making any modifications to the car, perform a vehicle scan and save it securely. This allows you to keep track of all changes and easily revert them if necessary.

See the VCDS Coding Log; all changes are recorded there. What do you have listed in yours?

I've seen two reverse lights (instead of one) on other vehicles with LED lighting. Did you accidentally switch something over to LEDs somewhere in the lamps?
The LED taillights may have a different wiring configuration. icon_idea.gif At least, that's the case with the T6.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello Rainer,
Thank you for the quick response. Yes, that was my mistake not to save it before. I can't find this VCDS coding log on my system... icon_eek.gif
I haven't changed anything from byte 18 because it doesn't display any bits; it just creates a list of vehicles. There are two options: Caddy with H4 headlights and Caddy with H7 headlights. I took the line for H7. As far as I know, LED taillights aren't available for this Caddy model. I remember having another vehicle where you could code the installation of the reversing lights in byte 3 using either a value of 1 or 2...

Best regards, Andreas.
