Can the threshold be reduced? This is already annoying at 2500km before, as the message appears with every engine start.

The kilometers are only an estimate, and can vary drastically depending on driving style.

We received a warning message while on vacation in Austria, on our way back from the Mediterranean. When we arrived home in Schleswig-Holstein, about 1000 km later, there were still 50 km (!) left to drive before the engine would have stopped working. You don't want this kind of thrill icon_wink.gif

To be fair, I have to admit: We were traveling with a caravan. That's why there was such a drastic difference in the remaining distance. And the trunk was completely full, with the spare wheel compartment at the back of the Sharan, which can sometimes be a bit messy. Therefore, refilling on the road on Sunday was also not an option, as that was what we wanted.

While I agree that the notification can be annoying during regular commuting, I would still advise against making a modification.
At least with the Sharan, there are only three physically detectable fill levels. Therefore, there is nothing that can be adjusted via software. If the lowest sensor no longer detects anything, then the warning message appears and the car simply continues to count the kilometers. After that, it will no longer start. The warning is deactivated when the middle fill level is detected.

Greetings
Guste

Unfortunately, no!

These are locked, emission-relevant parameters that must remain unchanged in the field.

It is also stipulated in EU regulations how these thresholds must be set. In the United States (EPA), specific thresholds for the so-called "Inducement" are even explicitly defined.

Can't do anything except get a good tuner, under the risk of losing the operating permit.

That's it! From the bottom swimmer, we count down using a model. The more you press the accelerator, the fewer kilometers you get per remaining volume.

Unfortunately, but sometimes also understandable.
