DSG Basic Settings, the following instructions apply to the use of our VCDS diagnostic systems (HEX-V2 or HEX-NET):

[b]7-Speed DSG Basic Settings (Front-Wheel Drive, Gearbox 0AM)[/b]
Requirements:

- No errors stored in the TCM.
- Transmission oil temperature: 30°C - 60°C. The temperature from the G510 can be found in measurement block 011.1.
- Gear selector in position "P", ignition ON, engine OFF, parking brake engaged.
- Brake pedal pressed (keep pressed throughout the procedure).
- Throttle not depressed.
[Important]: Please follow the following steps and complete the defined test drive.

Measurement Block 060
[Ok!]
[ON/OFF/NEXT]
Potentially necessary.

The readings should display 4 | 0 | 0 by default, which may take 2 - 5 minutes.

[b]After[/b] 4 | 0 | 0 is displayed, start the engine and let it run at idle. If 4 | 0 | 0 is not displayed, do [b]not[/b]

start (Procedure incorrect or mechanical gearbox fault)!
It is normal for the gearbox to make noises during the adjustment of tolerances, please do not interrupt the basic setup if you hear "clicking" noises.
The values should now display 254 | 0 | 0 to confirm the successful basic setup after 3 - 6 minutes.
254 | 7 | 0 means "not finished" and 255 | 0 | 0 means "basic setup interrupted or failed".
[Finished, back]

Turn off the ignition, wait a few seconds, then turn the ignition back on.

[Error memory - 02]
Check and clear any existing error codes.

[Disconnect, back - 06]
Now perform the defined test drive.

[b]
Defined test drive 7-speed DSG 0AM[/b]
Requirements:
- Gearbox oil temperature > 30°C. The temperature reading can be found in block 011.1 of the G510.
- Cruise control should not be used.

Procedure for the defined test drive after replacing the mechatronic/TCM and/or successful basic setup.
[b]Each with a +/- control knob (Tiptronic mode, applies to all subsequent steps)[/b]
and accelerate in 2nd gear with partial throttle.
Stop and repeat the process.
Shift twice into reverse and then back to forward gear.
Drive in each forward gear for at least 3 seconds.

Now, in either A) or B), drive in the appropriate RPM ranges:
A = Gears 4 or 6 (4th gear preferred)
B = Gears 3, 5, or 7 (5th gear preferred)
Maintain RPMs between 2000 - 4500 rpm and drive for at least one minute in A) and B) (2 minutes recommended).
Drive with alternating throttle positions, and in each of A) and B), at least once, accelerate to full throttle.
The values in blocks 180.1 and 200.1 should confirm the adjustments to the clutches with values of 3 or greater. Incomplete adjustments will be corrected during normal operation.
[Important:] If the test drive cannot or cannot be carried out as described, attempts will be made to carry out the remaining adjustments during operation. Some control units do not require the use of [ON/OFF/CONTINUE]
Buttons. If an error is displayed or the default status does not switch to "ON" after clicking the button, proceed with the procedure without further interaction and allow it to complete.

It is normal for the gearbox to make noises during the adjustment of tolerances, so please do not interrupt the process if you hear "clicking" sounds.

[b]Basic 7-Gang DSG Setup (Long Engine, Gearbox 0B5)[/b]
Requirements:
- No errors stored in the TCM or other powertrain control units.
- Correct gear oil level.
- Gear oil temperature: 40°C - 100°C. The temperature from the G510 can be found in the measurement block 011.1.
- Gear selector in position "P", ignition ON, engine OFF, parking brake engaged.
- Brake pedal pressed (keep pressed throughout the procedure).
- Throttle not depressed.
[Important]: All three basic setup procedures must be performed in the following order.

Use the reset counter to start/stop the procedures.

[Ok!]
To activate the default settings.

After the result is displayed indicating that everything is okay or the engine is not running, click [Stop].

[Finish, Back]

Start the engine but leave the gear shift lever in "P".

[Default Settings - 04]
Choose coupling valve calibration.
[Ok!] to activate the default setting.
After the result is displayed indicating that everything is ok, click [Stop].

Choose distance sensor calibration
[Ok!]
To activate the default settings.
Clattering sounds from the transmission are normal.
After the result is displayed, indicating that everything is okay, click [Stop].
[Done, Back]

Turn off the ignition, wait 10 seconds, and then turn the ignition back on.
[Error Storage - 02]
Check and clear the error storage.
[Done, back]

[b]Perform a test drive, check if everything is functioning normally and no errors reappear in the gearbox control unit's error storage.[/b]
6-Gang DSG Grundkonfiguration, alte DSG Steuergeräte[/b]
Requirements:
- No errors stored in the TCM.
- Transmission oil temperature: 30°C - 100°C. The temperature can be found in measurement block 019.
- Gear selector in position "P", ignition ON, engine ON (idle).
- Brake pedal pressed (keep pressed throughout the procedure).
- Throttle not depressed.
[Important]: Please follow the following steps [and] complete the defined test drive.

When starting the basic setting in block 61, wait until the values stop changing and the gearbox no longer makes noise. The basic setting will switch to ON when this is the case. This may take up to a minute.

Turn off ignition, wait 10 seconds, then turn ignition back on.

[Error memory - 02]
Check and clear any existing error codes.

Now perform the defined test drive.

[b]Defined test drive 6-speed DSG[/b]
Test drive procedure after replacing the mechatronic/TCM and/or successful basic setup.

Requirements:
- Gear oil temperature 30°C - 100°C. The temperature is to be found in measurement block 019.
- Do not use the cruise control.

In Tiptronic mode (+/-) drive from standstill to 6th gear. During this, drive in gears 3 or 5 for approximately 5 minutes, and also for approximately 5 minutes in gears 4 or 6.
The engine speed should be between 1200 - 3500 rpm (for clutch adjustment).
Now switch to a normal driving program, brake sharply (stop) and accelerate with full throttle (oil return check).
Check the driving behavior and gearbox for leaks.
[Important:] If the test drive cannot or cannot be carried out as described, attempts will be made to carry out the remaining adjustments during operation. Some control units do not require the use of [ON/OFF/CONTINUE]

Customers with TDIs have reported that speeds between 2000 and 2500 rpm are sufficient.

[b]6-Gang DSG Grundkonfiguration, neue DSG Steuergeräte, z.B. 0D9 - DQ250[/b]
Requirements:
- No errors stored in the TCM.
- Transmission fluid temperature: 30°C - 100°C. The temperature can be found in the extended measured values (IDE00024 Transmission fluid temperature)
- Gear selector in position "P", ignition ON, engine ON (idle).
- Brake pedal pressed (keep pressed throughout the entire procedure, see IDE02713 Brake Light Switch / IDE02714 Brake test switch).
- Gas pedal not depressed.
[Important]: Please follow the following steps [and] complete the defined test drive.

Selection [IDE02903 - Basic Transmission Settings]
Select the following measurements:
* IDE00021 Engine speed (Engine speed)
* IDE00322 Status of basic setting (Status of basic setting)
* IDE00024 Transmission fluid temperature (Transmission fluid temperature)
[Okay!]
When starting the basic settings, wait until "End of Basic Settings" is displayed and the transmission stops making noise.

The basic settings [b]fail[/b]
wenn:
- The engine oil temperature rises too high.
- The brakes are released.
- The accelerator is pressed.

[Done, Back]

Turn off ignition, wait 10 seconds, then turn ignition back on.

[Error memory - 02]
Check and delete any existing error codes. Save all error codes so that the problem can be identified.

[b]7-Gang DSG Grundkonfiguration (Quermotor, DQ381 Getriebe 0B5)[/b]
Procedure for adjusting the UDS controller.
Note: Not all gear control units support this function.

Requirements:
- Gear oil temperature greater than 15°C.
- DO NOT proceed if the temperature is outside the specification!
- Extended measurement values =
[Steuergerät Temperature]
- Select the gear lever to "P", ignition ON, engine ON (idle).
- Engine idle speed, without pressing the accelerator pedal.
- Apply the handbrake and footbrake throughout the process.

[Warning]
: Please follow these steps [u]and[/u] complete the defined test drive.

Make sure that all requirements are met! The brake pedal must be pressed throughout the process.

- Select [Default Settings - Transmission]

Select the following values:
* IDE????? [Engine Speed]
* IDE????? [Main status of abort code basic setting]
* IDE?????
[Basic Settings Status] ([Status of basic setting])
* IDE????? [Status of basic setting data for clutch] ([Status of basic setting data for clutch])
* IDE????? [Status of basic setting data; shift lever]
[Status of basic setting data; gear selector]
* IDE????? [Sub-status of abort code basic setting] ([Sub-status of abort code basic setting])
[Ok!]
press.

During the initial setup process, you may hear loud gear noises, which is normal.

After the initial setup is complete, wait until the "Initial Setup Complete" status is displayed and the gear stops making noise.

The initial setup is complete.
[b]Error[/b] if:
- The gearbox oil temperature rises too high.
- The brakes are released.
- The accelerator is pressed.

Once the basic settings are complete, this should be displayed in the IDE????? [Basic Settings Status] ([Basic Settings Status])
) displayed.

[Done, Back]

Turn ignition OFF, wait 10 seconds, then turn ignition ON.

[Error Memory - 02]
Check and delete any existing error codes. Save all error codes in case they are needed to diagnose the problem.
