VCDS 26.9.0 Update: SFD Now in German Version

The latest German version of VCDS, version 26.9.0, is now available with updated data, which means the SFD integration is also now available in the German version of VCDS.

New features and improvements in release 26.9.0:
• New feature: Online SFD (Service Financial Document) approval for Audi, Bentley, Cupra, Lamborghini, MAN, Seat, Skoda, Volkswagen (including commercial vehicles).
• New feature: Support for the 2027 model year.
• Improvement: The R-mode for accesses with an active diagnostic filter has been expanded.
• Improvement: Enhanced detection for active diagnostic filters, including partial automation for deactivation.
• Improvement: Centralized option to relock all installed control units (SFD) (see applications).
• Improvement: Saving automatic scans was not possible in certain situations.
• Improvement: Firmware update processes for HEX-V2 & HEX-NET have been improved.
• Improvement: Detection of the protection status for SFD/SFD2 (for measured values, adaptation, actuator diagnostics, basic configuration & coding).
• Improvement: The ability to select/filter advanced measurements in specific situations is not currently available.
• Improvement: Clearing the fault memory from "Advanced Measurements" is not possible in certain situations.
• Improvement: OBD2/PID evaluation corrected/expanded.
• Improvement: Control unit/address list expanded.
• Improvement: Translation and error messages have been revised.
• Update: Coding plugin/assistant (LCode).
• Control unit documentation (label files and ODX/ASAM data specification) expanded/updated.


These are the requirements for using the free 1-year SFD service:
• Original, licensed & registered unlimited HEX-V2 or HEX-NET: (Professional version without limits, purchased after January 1, 2023)
• For older interfaces or the 3-FIN/10-FIN variants, a paid SFD upgrade will be available.
• One-time SFD registration and identity verification (photo ID required – a legal EU requirement)
• The 1-year period begins with the registration and ends 1 year later.

Important: SFD subscriptions are personalized for individual natural persons – not for companies. The entire process is logged (as required by EU regulations). The interface must be registered to the same person as the SFD registration.


Here's how it works.
Connect the HEX-V2 or HEX-NET interface.
2. Start VCDS → Applications → "Start SFD Session".
3. Enter the SFD password → The interface will be authorized.
4. Perform a full vehicle scan, then unlock control unit 19 (Gateway) via "SFD → Online Unlock".
5. Unlock the desired control unit – valid for 90 minutes.
