First of all, I have to say, or rather write, that this is an excellent website for diesel car owners!


I've recently started driving a Polo 6N SDI with a whopping 60 horsepower.

Therefore, my question is: do the tips and diagnostic tools, etc., also apply to the SDI? Sure, yeah, I don't have a turbo, but most of the information should also apply to my SDI model.

or is this already somewhere and I've just missed it?

or is there a website for the few SDI drivers?

Hi Ingo,
The diagnostic tools are compatible with (almost?) all VAG vehicles.
Tips, for example, regarding AGR (Aktivierungsgradientenreduktion - Active Gradient Reduction), might be transferable to the SDi system.
Performance enhancements can be achieved through a tuning box/module or a chip, but it all depends.
not nearly as much as with the overhyped direct injection engines.
While there might be some articles on the topic of SDi in the archive, finding them probably won't be easy.
If you have any specific questions, please ask. Maybe someone here can offer some advice.

Is that not a heat exchanger used to process vegetable oil?

...to get into the car in the morning and immediately feel the warm air coming from the heater. The pictures clearly show that the heating element is attached to the engine block.
