.......my Ibiza TDI Sport with 96 KW will be delivered in mid-January icon_biggrin.gif.
...I've already acquired a power box; it's the Plugmaster PD from Koch, so it's not some cheap eBay product that uses a brute-force method to measure fuel temperature, but rather it controls the injectors based on characteristic curves and in relation to the original parameters.
Okay, here's the translation:

'Now my question: I had a lowering kit from KW-Systems in my old Ibiza GT TDI (AFN) that could be switched on and off. Does it actually serve any purpose in terms of protecting the engine?'
.....even with the Koch tuning box, more diesel is only injected under full load, which means that if I drive tomorrow and don't accelerate hard or rev above 2000 RPM, the box isn't actually active, right? It's supposed to be active when the engine is warm and I give it gas, but if I don't want to 'tune' and just drive normally (without extreme acceleration or high RPM), the box also isn't active. So, it doesn't really make sense to have a switchable box since neither the injection pressure nor the boost pressure are being changed!
Sure, when I accelerate and the power box is active, the transmission, clutch, engine, etc., are subjected to the corresponding INCREASE in torque, but with the power box (165 hp / 365 Nm), it's still within a reasonable range.
What do the experts say about it?
Regards,
Monchi.

Hi,

My switchable box is, for example, useful for the AU (according to the instructions, it should even be switched off there as specified in the manual).

And additionally, you only have real control over the increased load on the engine compared to its normal operating state.

When accelerating from low RPMs with a TDI engine, you'll often reach the maximum torque range with just half-throttle, which corresponds to full fuel injection.
Then the power box will also become active and release its diesel surcharge – long before the accelerator pedal even indicates that such a thing could happen.

@Ulf
'Do you have a wireless remote control installed, or did you run cables into the interior and place a switch there? I'd like to have a wireless remote. It shouldn't be too difficult – just a wireless remote and a receiver that, when a button is pressed, simply passes the power from the battery to the device. The material costs might be around 20 euros (receiver + wireless remote). Let's see who can help me with this!'
My Ibiza is a brand new car. Should I break it in without the subwoofer box first and then install it after 1,500 km, or should I install the box right away?
Regards,
Monchi.

Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

"Hi,"

My head unit is connected via cable. icon_evil.gif I think this is better than adding even more electromagnetic interference (EMI) to and around the car with a separate control panel.

I would drive the car in without using a parking garage.
It probably won't cause any harm, whereas an unintended "overload" (as mentioned above!) of a brand new engine could have relatively severe consequences – such as piston seizing, etc.
