hello
I will not be enabling the continuous operation of my cooler fan (having already replaced the relay and thermostat...).

A forum colleague suggested that the over-temperature switch for the air conditioning system might be defective. Where can I find this switch?

I have several circuit diagrams – for example, from Dieter Korp, etc. – but this switch is not found anywhere in them.

Hi Georg, so you have a wiring diagram? Then take a look at what controls the relay, which stops the fan from running when it's pulled out.

'The relay is controlled by the thermostat. It's new. Even if I disconnect the plug from the thermostat, the fan continues to run. If I pull the relay, it stops, which makes sense because it no longer receives power. The relay is located behind the dashboard, way in the back, making it very difficult to access. I suspect a wiring problem. Where else would the power come from to activate the relay? I'm still looking for the overheat switch for the air conditioning.'

Are you sure?
What's attached to 85 and what's attached to 86?

Hello,

Please check the F129 component (pressure switch for the air conditioning system).
It is located near or directly on the dryer cartridge. A pair of contacts in this pressure switch closes when there is overpressure in the system, which activates the fan.
If there is a fault (contacts are permanently connected even without the corresponding pressure), the fan will run continuously.

Regards,

Andy.

Hello,

Switch F129 deactivates the magnetic coupling, but not the fan.

Please check the on/off switch for the air conditioner. It also turns on the fan when the system is set to "AC on."

Hello,

Switch F129 deactivates the magnetic coupling, but not the fan.

He does that too, but not only that. This particular device has 2 contact pairs.

First, inform yourself, then write.

Here, I once described how things work around the fan issue.

Good luck.

Okay, let's not be so arrogant!

I probably installed more air conditioning systems in my six years working at the Seat workshop than you've ever had hot dogs in your entire life!

"But I'm not going to tolerate such stupid responses. I wanted to contribute and share my experiences from 6 years working with TDI engines, electrical systems, and air conditioning within the VAG organization. I'm really not in the mood for this anymore. Before you start making wild claims, you should really do your research. In fact, you shouldn't even be messing around with your air conditioning system. The only thing you're allowed to do, and it's the only thing, is to replace the pressure sensor, as it can be replaced with a coupling without depressurizing the system. You should really educate yourself properly before you think you can give me advice."

And to be honest, I don't think georg2's problem is related to the AC at all.

But since you already know everything, and even better than a certified automotive technician, I'll leave you to it!

Goodbye.

Hello, I'd like to chime in. Andy is right, and we don't need a disgruntled automotive technician.
