Hello guys!

After overcoming the hurdle of registration,
First of all, a compliment to the writers in the forum.
I've already found many very useful things!

Currently, I am working on installing a DWA (Digital Window Actuator).
Part number: 1HO 953 233 B, from a GTI.
into a 'regular' Golf. (I don't have the exact model code handy right now, sorry).

Apparently, it's the same DWA (German acronym, meaning 'water and wastewater association') as mentioned in this post.
WFS Golf3 TDI 1Z - https://community.dieselschrauber.org/en/viewtopic.php?t=2061

Below you will find the pinout configuration of the DWA. (IMAGE + TEXT)
Pins that I have marked with an X.
are not yet connected.
because I haven't found the cables or connectors yet.

The current situation is that when I run a test, ...
The turn signals and horn will activate as soon as the system is triggered ('broken into').
Speak as soon as I press the doorbell.

Now, the thing is, when I turn the ignition,
A constant tone from the horn is sounding. I've also found the problem now.
I disconnected the yellow four-pin connector from the cable harness of the DWA (Digital Window Assistant).
because I couldn't plug it into anywhere icon_smile.gif).
Then, I connected the contacts as follows:

Connect terminal T4/2 (black/yellow) of the yellow quad connector to terminal A1/7 (black/yellow) of the connector located behind the relay panel (horn + contact).

Connect contact T4/1 (brown) of the yellow quad connector to contact A1/8 (brown/black) of the connector located behind the relay panel (horn - contact).

I don't know where the contact T4/3 (brown/red) coming from T12/12 is supposed to go.
The wiring diagram only mentions 'F120 - contact switch for the central locking system.'
I don't know where I can find it. That's not the door contact switch, is it?
I already caught that one with T12/7, so what else do you want me to do?

My problem lies in correctly connecting the ground wire of the horn.
Perhaps there was a gap between the brown and the brown/black contacts.
Another relay?!?!? (see picture below) I'm afraid I don't know.
I took this thing out of a GTI 3 years ago from a junkyard. icon_smile.gif
And apparently, they forgot to disconnect the other side of the yellow connector.

Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

'Note:'
T4/1 comes directly from the main distribution panel located on the A-pillar.
If I disconnect the ground connection and leave the sw/ge connection intact,
No signal is emitted when an alarm is triggered.

Assumption:
T4/3 controls a relay that I don't have, and it's connected to T4?

proposed solution:
A relay that switches with a T4/2+ ground connection?
But actually, I'd really like to achieve the original result.

I think I did a pretty good job, especially considering I'm a mechanical engineer.
'At least the turn signals are working! But I really need your help to finish this.'
Please let me know if I'm wrong about anything here!
I have circuit diagrams.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
Sebastian Langer.

Hello, could it be that F120 is the hood contact sensor?

According to the wiring diagram, where do T4/2 and T4/3 go?

What about A1/7 and A1/8?

hello!

Thank you for addressing this topic!
I have solved the problem now.

Since I didn't have the complete wiring harness available,
I assumed that connector T4 had to be connected to A1.
That's obviously nonsense, because the original DWA (a type of German train horn) comes with a second horn.
(I didn't know that) So, the T4 connector leads into the engine compartment.
F120 is indeed the hood contact switch (contact T4/3).

Maybe this post will help someone someday...
Meanwhile, I am a DWA specialist. icon_smile.gif

Best regards,
sebastian

Hello,

I love abbreviations. Especially the ones with three letters... there are so many wonderful and diverse possibilities. icon_lol.gif

What is a DWA? icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif Is it a 'Dumb Automatic Departure System'?

Even when trying to deduce it from the context icon_rolleyes.gif, I couldn't figure it out.

Best regards, Kai.

See, it often fails because of the simplest things...

Well... So, you only skimmed the context superficially. Which module in your car makes it honk and flash its lights in case of a break-in? icon_arrow.gif A thief warning system. Nice VAG-German, or?

Private.
