Hello,

I want to do the exhaust gas recirculation icon_cool.gif.

So, just screw a stainless steel plate onto the manifold.
Does anyone have a sketch with dimensions for such a plate?
It would be great, otherwise I would have to measure everything painstakingly.

Thank you.

Regards,
DJ

Just buy a coloring book and trace the designs.

Or, quite brazenly, have it shown to you, copy it, and DON'T buy it icon_twisted.gif.

Hello dj1!

I would definitely buy a gasket and use it as a template for the sealing plate. Finally, you need a second gasket between the sheet metal and the flange icon_wink.gif.

Otherwise, it cannot be guaranteed that your connection is secure. Depending on the installation orientation, you might experience leaks either on the charge air side or the exhaust side.

Alex.

Hey, can you explain to me why you're doing this? What's the point? And what's the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve for? I had a power loss on my AFN 110hp engine. I unscrewed the hose from the valve, and then it ran better than before. Why is that? How does it work? What's the purpose?

@ moriaty

Have you read "The Little Fat Cupcakes"?

Okay, I'm ready. Please provide the German text you want me to translate.

I don't think so, because if you had, you would have searched for "AGR" or "exhaust gas recirculation" and found so much information that you could give a presentation about it yourself.

And by the way:

Why are you messing around with parts of the car that you don't know what they're for?
That would be too expensive for me!

(P.S. I don't expect a response - just use a search engine.)

Thank you.

Yes, thank you.
My search function wasn't working, or maybe I was just too dumb to use it. But in the meantime, I now know pretty accurately how the EGR system works and why. I've never owned a diesel before. And I also know why I would want to seal it off. Through my own thinking and maybe some experimenting, I've saved a lot of money and time, because all the mechanics were looking for the problem in other places. They all had no idea. First, I checked the timing, then the turbocharger, then the catalytic converter, etc., all based on the mechanics' suggestions. It was only a Volvo owner who pointed me in the right direction. And in my books, there was nothing about the function and operation of the exhaust gas recirculation system.
I have to commend this website. It has provided me with a lot of valuable information, especially the information I was looking for. I will definitely use it again in the future, okay?

P.S.: Whoever finds a spelling mistake can keep it.
