Does anyone have the dimensions for this adjustable ruler?
I need to build this part myself and don't want to unscrew the cylinder lid, measure, and then reassemble it first.
If someone has the dimensions, that would be very helpful.
Thank you very much!!
Best regards, Dirk |

There are two different single-line relays; one for older TDI (1Z, AFN, etc.) and a new one for PD-MPTs. Based on the image, I assume you need the simpler, older one.
I have one, and I'll draw something for you until this evening. Is a 'DWG' file okay?
I will then send it via email.
I'll also measure the diameter of the adjustment pin for the pump.
Best regards

ps: I hope the admins will forgive me for always writing everything in lowercase. It's just a habit of mine, as my shift key doesn't always work as easily as I'd like! |

Yes, a DWG is fine and yes, I need the dimensions for the 1Z.
The dimensions for the thorn would also be useful.
Thank you!! |

Could you also think of me? I would also be happy with the drawing and the dimensions of the marking tool - it certainly fits with ASV?
Where can I buy a cheap camshaft holder (VAG 3036)? |

My setup tool comes from a VW workshop and is a bit different from Marco's. However, it also works with his.

Does anyone perhaps also know the dimensions of the 3418 measuring tool? I mean, I think it's for my 2000 A3 with an 81 kW engine: ASV would be needed - right? |

Hi,
I used a railing connection strap – it fit perfectly.
They were just lying around in the workshop... Gruß Bertil

Hi Bertil
Great tip - if you could also provide us with a cheap source for something like that...
I mean, without having to deal with overweight people and tools all over the highway. Gruß Ulf

Okay, hier ist die Übersetzung:
So:
1. Are the parts screwed together - 2 screws
2. Just ask at a construction site, often damaged railings are replaced and the regulation states that new fastening material must be used. But that old one is enough for you.
The railings are installed one on top of the other, and behind them, essentially as a support, are these sheets. Gruß Bertil

I don't think this is appropriate here:

That's how the setup line looks:

Does anyone happen to know the dimensions of this measuring tool? |

The ruler is very similar to the old one, it's just longer in the middle. Basically, it has a 'nose'.
I will get the measurements if needed. The linear parts are quite easy to make for both models, but it's important that they are straight and 4.5 mm thick. The pin for the pump is much thinner, and a drill can also be used without any problems.
By the way, you can also easily create your own stops yourself. I used two flat bars and attached two screws to one of them. However, you can also use a larger pipe clamp. When inserted transversely, it can also be used as a stop - if needed. I have also made straps without using any stops.
Best regards

Hello everyone,
for AFN, I ordered at www.drapertools.com in GB a
I bought a diesel toolset for around 30 pounds. However, I wouldn't do it again. Since the ruler is only used to create the slot
on the camshaft, parallel to the deck surface of the valve cover
aligning the cylinder head would even require, at the cam-
well side, corresponding to, parallel-finished steel rail
sufficient. All thickenings, protrusions, or anything else
always serve on the other side, only to misalign the ruler
to make them more extreme, that's why they all see things differently
For the AHF, I was unable to use my expensive ruler that I had purchased.
use, as this is where the rear camshaft bearing housing is located, along with
The Simmering connection is blocked! I have spent half an hour on
Work in the Workshop (The year the workshop was established 30 years ago)
(was auch wert war) a ruler from a plain ruler
Built from my scrap box - only works with the finest!
Best regards, Jürgen

... that's what I said. The handrail connector is "just" a flat bar with two holes. You can still rework the part. Gruß Bertil

or you could go to a parts dealer (not at a friendly VW...!) and order from Klann:
Timing belt instruction manual: KL-0280-9 (but not for PD)
Fuel pump retaining clip: KL-0280-8
'The Dorn and Arretiering method was not always expensive. Unfortunately, Mrs. Weiß doesn't remember the prices anymore.'
then there is also from klann:
Cam sprocket tooth key: KL-0282-3
Remove tool for Nockewell gear: KL-0282-1
spannschlüssel für zahnriemenspannrolle: KL-0284-9
but be aware that these 3 parts have outrageous prices !!!!
There is also a set from KLANN, which I assume is for PD engines, where you don't need to remove the valve cover. The tool is inserted through a slot in the valve cover or valve cover seal and then secured externally on the engine block! However, the parts cost around 90 euros. But, compared to a new valve cover including the vulcanized seal, it could still be quite affordable!
I can also find the number of the Bosch fuel pump adapter for you! However, it also cost a ridiculous amount of money. I think it was around 45 euros. |
