Rust on Passat Variant, year 1999

Hello everyone,

I recently noticed rust on the door frame, specifically the window frame of my Passat, which is coming from inside through the paint. The rust is almost always near a seal. Has anyone else experienced something similar? What are the chances of a warranty claim? While I have a 10-year (or was it 12?) warranty against corrosion, it hasn't actually rusted through.

would appreciate any tips.

kann dir zwar keinen Tip geben habe aber vor ein paar Wochen dasselbe festgestellt (Bj. 2/1998). Werde mal bei VW vorsprechen....

Hi,

klingt ja übel ! Sicher daß es keine Schweißpunkte o.ä. sind ? Lack schon weggekratzt und ist wirklich Rost drunter ?
Wäre nett wenn ihr mir mal eure Fahrgestellnummer nennen könntet(wegen Produktionsort, Fgstnr. steht z.B. vorne im Serviceheft).
