Hello,

Due to the extremely high gasoline prices, I was tempted to quickly cross the border the other day and really step on the gas. (88 cents per liter / which is still quite a lot...)
Result: The engine is running more smoothly, and according to the MFA (Multi Function Display), it uses half a liter less fuel for the same route and has slightly better acceleration. I filled up with fuel from a Jet station...
Have any of you "people living on the outskirts" experienced similar things?
Could it be related to the percentage of biodiesel used in Germany?

Matze.

Hi Matze,

Unfortunately, I can't say anything concrete about it. I lack the comparison values with German fuel icon_wink.gif.
"However, I've been using Czech diesel in my AJM engine for about 60,000 km, and I haven't experienced any problems with it."

Best regards,
Stefan.

P.S.: Could you please tell me which heat shield was making that chirping noise on your car?

While I drive a Fiat Stilo JTD with 150 horsepower, I think I'm entitled to express my opinion.

I fill up my tank in both the Netherlands and Germany, and so far I haven't noticed any difference.

Do Czechs mix diesel with biodiesel or something similar? This might explain the smoother running.

I occasionally fill up in the Netherlands (at Texaco). The diesel there still foams as much as it did here 10 years ago.
I haven't filled up with (highly) foaming diesel in Germany for ages.
However, fuel consumption and combustion noise are equally low or loud with the NL-grade fuel icon_biggrin.gif.

Hello,
I've even had a similar experience with German gasoline. For the past 3 months, I've always filled up at Aral, but then I once stopped at a cheaper Total station, just to save money, and only drove about 1 kilometer. I noticed a significantly better response and, subjectively, more power. Since then, I mostly fill up at Total and no longer at Aral.

just occasionally icon_wink.gif

icon_lol.gif The other day, there were two glass containers on a table next to the entrance of a Shell gas station. One contained diesel (a yellowish liquid), and the other contained the ultimate V-Power super-premium MegaDiesel (almost transparent). icon_lol.gif

Yes, those are indeed compelling selling points! icon_rolleyes.gif

I once won a tank of V Power Diesel. I couldn't notice any performance increase. It just seemed to produce slightly less soot.

Well, thankfully, it's dark under my hat, so the EDC won't notice that it needs to spread Jet icon_rolleyes.gif.

I was in Croatia a few days ago and noticed the same thing with a 1.9 TDI A6 from 1999.
much better performance! These countries produce diesel from Russian oil.

maybe it's because of icon_razz.gif
