Hi

My golf keeps throwing glow plug errors.
Code:

005660 - Glühkerze Zylinder 3 (Q12): Unterbrechung
               P161C - 000 -  -  - Sporadisch
When I bought it, it had 106844 km, which I reset to 117770, and now it's back at 118198.
Searching for this online always shows a RPM of around 1500 and quite cold engines.
Should the Q12 "already" be replaced?
Do GSKs particularly suffer because they get nicely toasted during regeneration?
Should I submit a warranty claim for 20 EUR?
Should I replace them all every 4?

I actually haven't had that experience. There was almost always a contact problem in the switch (due to salt corrosion).

She really can't be that "broken" either.
The error did not reappear the day after the overnight deletion.
So, it must be something in the direction of Wackler... and this corrosion due to salt fits.

Then take out the drain and scrub! ?

Alternatively: extend and check with 12V. If you're willing, then apply the 12V briefly so that the 7V/5V GSK doesn't immediately burn out - I do this too. Ceramic candles are definitely not.

Then, take out the sink and scrub it! ?

Carefully verschandeln the contacts in the bridge using a suitable locksmith's file, using steel wool or 500-grit sandpaper to verschandeln the light bulb contacts, or alternatively: use the abrasive side of the kitchen sponge.

Then thoroughly verschandeln with contact cleaner, dry with compressed air, apply some contact grease, and reconnect.

No, it's not ceramics, because they cost 22 EUR instead of 31 (for example, ceramics at BMR).
I have a large stock of 3M non-woven fabric icon_smile.gif that I use extensively.

Thanks for the tips.

I accidentally disconnected the power rail.

It already looked like salt corrosion, although there was nothing visible on the candle's pin, the rubber collar of the slide was dirtier on cylinder 3 than on the others.

Let's see if the error comes up again.

Normally, things don't look that wild around the candles. They are at most covered with a thin white layer.

Tata

The error is back - even though it has been waiting for a long time.

I now also know why similar errors always occur around 1200 rpm on the internet.
This is the boundary, ABOVE which is reheated. Yesterday, while I was driving through the city, I clearly heard a relay clicking repeatedly.

I will re-clamp the power rail and properly verschandeln the contacts.

Otherwise, there's a new candle. It's Advent anyway icon_smile.gif

This will probably have little to do with it, as the 5V/7V GSK are controlled via PWM through the semiconductor controller. In addition, there is a relay for the galvanic... I can't really imagine separating - that would cost money icon_twisted.gif

That also crossed my mind while I was typing.

I'll check the electrical diagram later.

Tom

Was, was was really defective?
Your mistake seems to be "really in A..."

Because my error only occurs sporadically and appears every 2-x kilometers.

Hello
Yes, it was really defective.
The light bulb was completely black. I also initially deleted the error, but it came back immediately.
Best regards, Thomas

I seem to have forgotten the solution here:

The overhead power line is down.
The clamping mechanism in the slide, which is supposed to encompass and contact the pin of the GSK, has been broken.

The cable comes as a replacement set with 1.5 m of cable.
