Hello,
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to record certain data on my 1Z car using a laptop while driving.
The engine has been modified with a turbocharger running at 1.1 bar of boost pressure and injectors from a 5-cylinder TDI engine, along with a custom chip.
The test duration was approximately 5 minutes on the A31 highway, accelerating from 100 km/h to 208 km/h according to the speedometer.
The data during the journey.
Top speed according to the laptop: 198 km/h (208 km/h according to the speedometer).
'The intake air temperature remained at approximately 39°C (outside temperature ~3°C), despite using maximum engine speed.'
Oil temperature: ~126°C
Injection angle 17.4° relative to the top dead center (TDC) at maximum speed.
What pleasantly surprised me is that the intake air temperature remained constant at 39°C.
while the engine was constantly getting 'hotter,' including the oil temperature, which reached 126°C.
I had the impression that the intake air temperature could rise up to 70°C, even on cold days. This is because, as a 1Z engine, the engine was subjected to a significant amount of power demand.
Does anyone happen to have information about the injection angle for a standard 1Z engine? The actual injection angle doesn't always match the values provided in some magazines or documents.
Best regards,

According to the scientific articles:

Hi,
I also looked at the technical article, which states that at full load, the injection timing is 8-12° BTDC (before top dead center), using the same reference as the AFN engine. However, I also know that, for a standard AFN engine (as read from the engine management system), the injection start timing at full load was 15.4° BTDC!
Or, something that just occurred to me, could it be that these values apply up to the maximum RPM, which is 4000 RPM?
Best regards,

The injection start occurs at angles up to 15.08° for engines 1Z and AFN (MSA15; target air-fuel ratio; possible corrections not considered).
where data rounded to 8 bits are transmitted as part of the diagnostic process (displayed as 15.4).
(so it may be).
Best regards, Rudi.
