Hello everyone, I'm new here and hope this is the right forum. I have a question about this topic.
Haven't found a thread yet.
My workshop asked me if I could help them because the VAS tester is too expensive for them.
And on eBay, you can occasionally find older versions of the VAS software.
Here's the question:
Has anyone ever tried installing the VAS software on a laptop and using it for...?
brought to a run.
Thank you in advance for the answers. Fahre nie schneller als Dein Schutzengel fliegen kann

Go to the link labeled "Diagnosis/Tuning Online Shop" at the top of this page.
You can find, among the professional systems, a VCDS Hex-Can http://shop.dieselschrauber.de/product_info.php/products_id/46 (VCDS used to be called VAG-COM). This offers even more functions than the VAS software and costs "only" €350. It is definitely a worthwhile purchase for any workshop.
A key advantage over the VAS software is the ability to record measurement data during a test drive. These recorded measurements can then be, for example, posted to this forum for collaborative troubleshooting and analysis, even after the test drive has concluded.
Best regards,
Sure.
Here is the translation of the text from German to English:
"Guste" means "gust" in English. It refers to a sudden and strong gust of wind.

If your workshop needs diagnostic software for VW, Audi, Seat, and Skoda, in my opinion, VCDS Hex-Can is the best choice.
If you're looking for a workshop that can service other brands besides the main one, then Gutmann is definitely worth considering.

What I forgot to mention...
VCDS is developed by Rosstech using C or C++ with Microsoft Visual Studio and, of course, can also be run on a laptop. I still use it on an old 800 MHz laptop running XP without any problems...

Yes, unfortunately .
It's quite funny when the LMM (lambda sensor) has "VW/Audi" printed on it, and the flat connector housing has a star on it . selber schrauben - statt Werkstattpfusch

Something along the lines of the other similar vehicle that the corporation built – like the Sharan/Galaxy, etc.
The unfortunate reality in every industry is that wanting to own a car often leads to...
something that's so convoluted and unreliable, it only works partially or intermittently.

Similarly, with the Volvo V40.
It has an AEL, which is called something different there, but it has the Audi logo on it everywhere. Unfortunately, I couldn't connect to it with my VAG diagnostic equipment, and OBDII also couldn't read the car's data .
Besides that, at least the engine in the LT was a "real" Volkswagen engine, or its diagnostic protocols were compatible with VCDS.
Leaving aside these "corporate hybrids," VCDS is still a top-notch tool, and the price point makes me completely unable to understand why anyone would resort to cracked versions. selber schrauben - statt Werkstattpfusch
