Hi everyone,
I'm currently installing a new Telestart control unit for my Thermo Top E auxiliary heater. I'm encountering the following problem: There are two black wires coming from the wiring harness to the auxiliary heater. One for the timer and one for the outdoor temperature sensor.
1.) How can I identify the correct wire for the temperature sensor without having to get under the car?
2.) Do I need to connect the cable for the temperature sensor to +12V or to ground if I don't have a temperature sensor?
Edit: I'm not referring to the internal B2 sensor of the auxiliary heater, but the external one that can be seen on the wiring diagram.
Thank you in advance for your answers.
Regards,

According to the installation instructions, the wire to the clock should be 0.5mm², while the wire to the outdoor temperature sensor should be 0.75mm².
I think I might have left the ATF connection open, but I'm not entirely sure anymore. I would need to check if necessary.
Best regards.

Hi,
'Thank you.' As you described, the auxiliary heater works like that.
What change occurs if the wire leading to the temperature sensor is connected to ground or 12V?

I have no idea how that works.
Since I've always been curious about what this sensor is used for, I inquired with Webasto and received the following information:
Dear Mr. xxx,
Thank you for your email.
The temperature sensor described in the circuit diagram enables the heater to be operated as an auxiliary heater.
Sincerely,
Best regards.
