Hi,
for anyone who might be interested or who would have thought it was impossible, here's the story:
About half a year ago, I had to replace my diesel filter again. One cost around 65 DM, so I bought one from ATU, which was 35 DM cheaper there.
After installation, I tightened a few things up, and lo and behold, everything was working again. However, this was followed by the problem that it was showing a loss of power. Initially, I thought it might be due to air in the system, specifically negative pressure. Then I wondered if the injectors might have finally failed, perhaps after making a loud noise.
Okay, so let's go to ATU. The mechanic there advised me instead of replacing the nozzles, to verschandeln the engine with special fluids, which also removed a lot of dirt, and it definitely didn't cause any damage. A new diesel filter was also installed, but the performance loss remained.
Now, after 6 months of fruitless searching, Martin mentioned that after I had told him about the problem, he had also bought a diesel filter for his TD at ATU and had observed the same phenomenon.
350,- DM for engine cleaning, 30,- DM each for the 2 diesel filters from ATU, and both are defective and practically useless. 600,- DM for new injectors, and this was only because I bought a slightly cheaper diesel filter. ATU returned the 2nd filter and gave me the money back, of course, the rest cannot be undone.
And the moral of the story is: the filters from ATU are not good. Therefore, it is advisable to buy from VW, to avoid problems and not to waste time.
