Hi!

The large amount of fuel has to somehow get into the combustion chamber. The amount of fuel injected is only controlled by the injection duration. This means that with double the fuel consumption, the injection time is approximately doubled. Or, more precisely: The injection start must be advanced, and the injection continues for a long time, or it is injected for a very long time, even into the upward movement of the piston. Under these conditions, the engine load is naturally enormous. With this engine configuration, I would only give it gas as long as I can still see the car behind me in the rearview mirror! Otherwise, you are certainly risking engine damage. Your tuner has definitely done something wrong. My recommendation would be to go to the tuner if your car runs perfectly fine without the chip.
In this forum, there aren't many cars that have been chipped, but almost all of them offer very good performance with a fuel consumption increase of, at most, 0.5 liters.

Best regards,
Uwe

What fuel consumption are you all getting? It's unbelievable.
Even my second car, a modified Opel with 150 horsepower, only uses 9.5 liters.
My Sharan, with a chip tuning upgrade, currently uses only 6.5 to 7 liters per 100 kilometers with normal to sporty driving. Since the chip tuning, my fuel consumption has decreased by about three-quarters of a liter.

'But regarding the actual chip: I wouldn't drive another meter with a chip from ***! With that fuel consumption, you're assuming far too much fuel. The engine simply can't burn that much fuel without damage. Be careful not to ruin your engine!'
'Too much fuel washes the oil film off the cylinder walls and significantly increases piston crown temperatures. This can lead to piston seizure or holes in the piston, and one of those two outcomes is almost certain to happen...'

Hey everyone, I'd like to chime in now.
icon_lol.gif So, my TDI is tuned with an auxiliary module from Wendeland, engine code AHF, now with 100 kW and 300 Nm of torque.
'I also experience a very high fuel consumption when driving at full throttle or, more precisely, above three-quarters throttle. This issue only appeared after I replaced the mass airflow sensor. However, a fuel consumption of 12 liters is far too high. I haven't noticed any difference myself; in fact, the fuel consumption displayed on the MFA (Multi-Function Display) seems to be even lower, although those are just calculated values. When I fill the tank completely, drive until it's empty, and then fill it again, I average 5.6-5.7 liters, which I find acceptable.'
