Bought a magnetic solenoid valve for €33, installed it, and everything is perfect... Thank you, thank you, thank you...

It can be this easy. X

Sure, no problem!

And thank you for the feedback.

Do you still have the old one?
Can you determine what is broken?

I always thought that if this part fails, it would cause the turbocharger to only produce the design-specified 0.6 bar of boost, essentially sending full boost pressure to the wastegate.

It seems your N75 valve failed in a way that prevented any boost pressure from being applied to the wastegate.

I'll take a closer look at it sometime this week and see what's inside. I'm also curious to see what's in it, especially since that little thing caused me so much trouble icon_redface.gif.

I think that if you dissect it, my question will no longer be answerable.

Mouth-to-valve ventilation is more appropriate in this case.

When you hold it, the connectors will likely appear to be translucent, with a black and blue tint.

black = outside air
Red = Charge air.
blue = wastegate

I took a more delicate approach... using a saw, a pair of side cutters, and a chisel.

Result: The spring was broken where the two connectors are located on one side. The opening valve is mounted on a spring, which is supposed to move the valve housing to the open position. The spring was broken at the bottom. It probably still functioned for a while after that. You can see that the two spring parts wore each other down until they eventually jammed. This prevented any valve movement due to induction. For those who don't know what the part looks like when it's open, here's a picture.

I hope I was able to contribute something productive now icon_biggrin.gif.

hiho

I have a question about the 1Z/AHU engine. I was just playing around with VAG-COM and noticed two values in a measurement block (which I think are boost pressure). Sometimes, the value is above 2100 mbar, even though it should only be around 19xx mbar. Is this normal?

'And something else I noticed: could it be that when accelerating under full load, the system starts reducing the boost pressure at some point, although I don't know the exact RPM? I could see that one value (the target value) had already decreased, even though the actual pressure hadn't yet reached the target. Is this some kind of protection to prevent it from hitting the rev limiter?'
