From a tax perspective, you are driving a multi-fuel engine, and it is classified as Euro 0.

a) He's my customer service representative anyway, and b) In Austria, taxes are not based on the emission class, but on the engine power. Emission classes are only relevant for new registrations.

By the way, there are no problems with the AU.

And I feel the same way, which is why I'm telling you that I find it extremely disapp...ointing what you do to get from A to B as cheaply as possible.

If (in Austria as well as in Germany) tax evaders were punished less severely, I would have already been driving with 'unadulterated diesel' a long time ago, because the TDI engine also likes it.

Finding solutions is acceptable, however, the solutions should be ones where one does not have to impose everything possible on their surroundings just to gain the greatest possible personal (and financial?!) benefits from it.

Normally, I mostly dispose of old tires, but if I can get something else for free, why not take it? If I can't process it myself, it will be sent for thermal recycling through other means.

Just so you know, I make sure the fuel burns as cleanly as possible, which is why it requires 4.7 times longer for the initial warm-up and 2 times longer for the afterglow. Even with the worst fuel, my engine doesn't produce more smoke during a cold start than many production diesel engines. The fuel injection timing is at the upper limit, and that's why it smokes, because the injection times are excessive in certain RPM ranges. With warm combustion chambers (under load), you don't smell anything, and a properly functioning oxygen sensor should help with the smoke at idle and low load.

By the way: my injectors are new, and they are set to a higher opening pressure. They also have a pre-injection function; they are long-life Duraterm injectors.

Can you actually use an OTTOkat as an Oxicat? I have one lying around. Or does anyone have an Oxicat for sale at a good price?

IMO not, because the catalytic converter has a different function than the Otto catalytic converter. AFAIK, this has already been discussed before.

If (in Austria as well as in Germany) tax evaders were punished less severely, I would have long since been driving with 'unmodified diesel,' because the TDI engine also runs well on it.
If you're not mistaken, fiscal 'petty offenses' are sometimes punished more severely in Germany than some violent crimes, unfortunately. When it comes to the state's money, the state shows no leniency icon_wink.gif. But German jurisprudence is a different chapter and doesn't belong here.

When starting cold, my modified engine doesn't produce more smoke than many factory-built diesel engines, even when running on the worst fuel.
Based on the smoke behavior, one cannot, in my opinion, conclude about all the other byproducts that are emitted in relation to DK. My point was that burning mineral oils, cold cleaners, etc., which are not primarily intended for combustion in diesel engines, cause even less optimal exhaust values than heating oil, for example, and I cannot approve of that. But cargo ships are much worse in that regard icon_rolleyes.gif.

PS: What are the taxes for a VP-TDI (66 and 81 kW) engine that meets Euro2 standards in region A?
