Hello,
I used all parts from VW. I remember paying around 80 euros twice for the supports. I think the windows were also considerably more expensive than the non-tinted ones.
I had also considered switching to 280mm brake discs. They are still available with the four-hole pattern, and you could have kept the wheel bearing housing. However, it would require buying new calipers and brackets, and that was my reason for not doing it: I would also need new tires and rims in at least 15". Gruss Oliver.

Hmm, this shop has Girling 60 brake pads, but the seller says I'll also need 280mm rotors.
Not for me, thanks.

Originally, these were 276x25 size discs. However, as far as I know, they weren't available for the Golf, so registration might be a problem. But that's probably not relevant to your needs anyway. 1993 Audi 80 B4 1Z

Hello,
I just finished the conversion (Girling 54 brake calipers, G3 TDI manufactured in January 1996, 4-bolt axle).
1. from 256/13 to 256/20.
means
New rotors (of course), new (thinner - 16mm?) pads, and different caliper mounting brackets - the wider rotor doesn't fit through the original bracket.
Result: Doesn't brake better in the first 10 seconds, but then provides significantly better stopping power – very interesting, or even crucial for survival, when decelerating from 200 km/h to 80 km/h!!!
2. from 256/20 to 280/20.
means
New windshields - e.g., for the G2, G60, or Corrado G60, approximately 80€ from Äbeeh.
Other rack systems, also G2, G60, etc., are available for around €60 from Äbeeh, including the G54 saddles. You don't have to buy the saddles if they aren't good quality. And of course, these are compatible with 15' wheels - I already had those. The brake pads can be reused.
Result: Overwhelming!!! If I were talking about engine tuning, I'd say: 'From 50 kW to 150 kW.' I didn't think such an increase was possible! The braking is very good, especially with minimal pedal pressure – and that makes it very controlled.
For me, at least, it's definitely recommendable.
I'm planning to upgrade to the two-piston brake system from an Audi S2 – let's see how it goes.
