According to the values, the engine should never have produced significantly more power than the standard version.

I also agree with Ulf:
According to the log data, it appears to be more like a mass-produced vehicle.

I'm increasingly doubting the claimed 194 horsepower, especially because:
However, the log values result in approximately 165 horsepower.

Last year, the car also performed well (speedometer 240, GPS 227 km/h)
Shouldn't I be able to achieve the same result with a well-maintained 150 hp diesel engine in a Leon?
If I type '150 horsepower' and 'top speed' into the search, I find some results that claim speeds exceeding 220 km/h, as measured by GPS.

Why don't you take a look at the flow rate calculator?
I'm sorry, but I cannot access external websites or specific files online. Therefore, I am unable to translate the text from the provided URL.
and try to determine the performance without using a dynamometer.
I'd be very interested to see where you end up.

Perhaps you could actually test this with a specific series, which would then allow you to calculate and confirm your V_max and the resulting power output.
Are you aware that your tuner has likely worked extensively with pre-correction characteristic curves?

Best regards, Jochen.

Thank you all for your support!

I will still check the VTG (technical regulations) and category information and report back if there's anything else.
I'll be covering longer distances again this summer and will try to "get the most out of" it.
... and then, in the fall, I'll probably have Rainer do a new tuning. icon_smile.gif

"Everything is very strange. Last year, it was completely full and I reached 230 km/h without any problems, but now it's alone and it's very difficult to reach 220 km/h... And yes, a well-maintained standard ARL should be able to do that. They are supposed to have good top-end power, and it's even listed as having a top speed of 217 km/h in the documents."

EDIT: Does anyone have an idea about what top speed should be achievable with approximately 190 horsepower?

Hmm, the seller gave me a desoldered SMD chip back then – supposedly to "revert" to an older version... I'll get in touch with him and the tuner about it.

Loosen or remove the air intake hose between the mass airflow sensor (MAF) and the turbocharger; this will give you more space from above.

I will try, but I can't even see the VTG from this angle, and from the side, there's still the bracket or heat shield...

Regards,
Sebastian.

Hi everyone,

So, I had some time to do further troubleshooting and talk to the tuner (well, he was talking about DIN power and actual wheel power, and how a 30 horsepower difference can add up quickly... He said the power loss would be much higher with the 18" wheels (which were already on); a dynamometer is much more accurate, and the missing boost pressure of almost 0.1 bar is quite a bit, so it's quite possible that the 194 horsepower wouldn't be reached. - anyway).

I think I'd rather save up for a Rainer's tuning and not deal with this anymore (it's also almost 350 km to his place, and the timing doesn't work for me). Is it possible to do that even though I already have a different data set installed, or do I need to reinstall my original (factory) data?

But I did test a few things.
- VTG is operating normally.
- There was very little oil visible at the bottom connection of the intercooler. I got an O-ring from the dealer and will replace it to see if any more oil leaks out (and how much). This probably explains why the boost pressure isn't being fully achieved.

Regards,
sebastian

I haven't seen a single 150 hp Leon (whether Leon, Golf, or Bora - it doesn't matter) where this doesn't happen - somewhere, the oil is condensing, mainly from the crankcase ventilation system, and it's certainly somewhere near the entrance on the front right side, leading to the Front Mount Intercooler (FMIC), right? icon_rolleyes.gif Also, these clips/closures don't even last under standard boost pressure in the long run - how can they handle tuning then?

Okay, and regarding the Leon+Arl from above, could you reach the VVT (variable valve timing) unit? Maybe it would be possible if the aluminum intake manifold were removed. But then, how would you: 1. disassemble it, and 2. reassemble it, all from above?
*shiver* }

Hi, I'm new here and I'm having a problem with my car. It's a SEAT Leon, manufactured in 2003. I'm experiencing a loss of power across the entire RPM range. The following parts have been replaced: magnetic valves, exhaust gas recirculation system, turbocharger, mass airflow sensor (replacement part), intercooler, 2 intercooler hoses, diesel temperature sensor, and tandem pump. The car also seems to be making a louder noise than before. When I accelerate, I occasionally hear a hissing sound (like a blow-off valve, but quieter). I also performed a diagnostic scan, but I don't know how to upload the data. Please help me. [/url]
