I've heard from some people who had the diesel engine in a Fiat 500 that it performs much worse than in the Panda, probably due to the higher weight.
Otherwise, I have nothing against the engine... it just has too little torque! Especially because it doesn't even consume less fuel despite the significantly weaker performance.
The VW 3-cylinder engine may be a bit of a tractor, but it does have power.
Both engines come standard with turbochargers.

I have to admit that I'm not familiar with the 1.3 CDTI engine with a chip tuning. However, all the tuners claim to offer surprisingly little torque, but of course, that doesn't necessarily mean anything. I only believe what I've personally experienced.

I recently wanted to test drive a 500 with a diesel engine, but it was impossible to arrange. It's either buy it or don't. The only option for a test drive is the 100 horsepower gasoline engine.

P.S.
I calculated the fuel consumption for the current tank again: It's almost exactly 6.9 liters, but that was mostly highway driving at high speed with a full load, except for two short trips with a cold engine.
"In my 535d, with a driving style that occasionally uses the electric mode for about 30 km and sometimes goes above the speed limit when the road is clear, I'm using 9.9 liters. That's still 3 liters less..."

By the way, my fuel consumption hasn't improved (even with Optimax Superdiesel).
Okay, gib mir den deutschen Text, den du übersetzt haben möchtest.
I drove from HH (Hamburg) to Berlin. On the way there, I refueled at the Aral service station in Wittenburg. On the way back, I refueled there again.
Pick up 3 people + 80 kg of luggage in heavy traffic, return empty.
Speed limits were largely adhered to (based on GPS, not the speedometer). The driving style was significantly more fuel-efficient than usual. However, the vehicle's considerable weight was very noticeable during acceleration. The total distance covered (round trip) was approximately 160 km, with a speed limit of 130 km/h or slower. On the way there, I drove approximately 160 km/h where it was permitted, although traffic was moderately heavy, and occasional acceleration was necessary.
I was able to maintain a true speed of approximately 170-175 km/h on the empty highway sections. I only had to accelerate three times during the entire journey.

The fuel consumption for the approximately 450 km driven was 7.78 liters.

I have a feeling that under similar conditions (including winter), I would have achieved a fuel consumption of around 7 liters.

Well, never mind.
