That's not going to happen with those 170 horsepower TDI engines anymore.

How can I understand this?

Is there a fundamental flaw in this engine?

Best regards, Christian.

Could you please log the values of MWB 1 and 4 while the system is idling?
If the valve timing is even slightly off, by just one degree, you'll experience poor low-end performance.

I forgot something else...
In the multi-meter display (MWB), a value around 70 can be used to read the lambda value (under full load).
This provides information about potential nozzle coking.

Hello haamerschlosser,

I have uploaded the MWB file. https://community.dieselschrauber.org/en/viewtopic.php?p=124658#124658

What valve timing should the engine have?

I just used the molecular weight value I found for Lambda.
Unfortunately, I couldn't drive at full speed for much longer. I hope this is enough; otherwise, I'll have to get on the highway.

How are the Lambda values related to the spray pattern/PDs?
I understand that the combustion process deteriorates as soon as the spray pattern becomes poor.
What is the threshold between acceptable nozzle performance and nozzle clogging?

Best regards, Christian.

At some point, I recall that when driving at full throttle in fourth gear, the engine speed would settle around 1.2 (presumably referring to a value on the tachometer).
It seems that the material, especially in area 1.4, is a bit too thin (and likely carbonized).

I'd rather try out the new software version myself before you start searching all over the place.

@ hello there
Great, all the things you can log there. What temperatures are being measured in MWB 75? Before and after the turbocharger and catalytic converter?

@haithaminaViewing profile: haithamina,

I've now correctly labeled the columns; I forgot to do that yesterday.

Best regards, Christian.

The beginning looks quite good, but gradually...
The values are drifting towards where they were with our previous BMM, where the probe was simply scrap.
was, if you need it, I can gladly send you the log...it's a bit similar to icon_wink.gif.

@vagtuning,

I also noticed the lambda values.
icon_redface.gif Unfortunately, I have no idea what this value means. Is there any information available about it?
Is this value related to air mass? Or is the probe just malfunctioning?
The value should be between 1 and 2; that's the only thing I've figured out so far.

Best regards, Christian.

Hello.
The position of the intake camshaft is slightly too early, but it's acceptable.
Unfortunately, the position of the camshaft that allows you to adjust the basic ice injection time is not visible because parameter MWB 1 is missing. Did you perhaps log parameter MWB 2?
The lambda value is also okay, as already explained by VAG Tuning.

Hello haamerschlosser,

I've logged in again; now it shows MWB 1 & 4.

I hope this is correct now.

Best regards, Christian.

Hello.
The values in fields MWB 1 and 4 are excellent.
The basic ice slurry injection rate should be between 3 and 9 mg/h.
So, it's performing well with a score of around 6 out of the best. If the value were lower, adjusting the timing of the camshaft slightly "earlier" would have resulted in a higher base fuel injection volume, which naturally would lead to a slight increase in fuel consumption. However, that's not necessary for your setup.
Are you updated yet?

Hello.

You're welcome, Haamerschlosser.
I have an appointment at the dealership tomorrow and I hope they can find the update there.
Today, nobody knew anything about an update. icon_eek.gif

As soon as the "good guys" are done, I'll post all the information.

Sure, here's the translation:

"Dear Christian,"

Hello everyone,

Yesterday, I got my car back.
Unfortunately, without a software update.
With a new LLM that makes no difference.

According to the explanation from those who are sympathetic, there will be no new software for the BRD (Bundesrat).
Because Volkswagen may have different software than Audi, but I cannot verify whether that is true or not.
Maybe someone here can help with that?
I was just handed a note saying that all the problems were supposedly caused by a larger loader?!
The larger loader produces more exhaust fumes, but it seems like the engine is being held back by the emissions control system, which is preventing it from reaching its full power.
If I misunderstand anything, please correct me.
"When starting the engine in cold weather (below freezing), it sometimes stalls. There should be a software update to fix this, but it doesn't seem to exist."

Unfortunately, I have no idea what to do with the car right now.
I don't expect much from the "Friendly" guys.
Does anyone else have any ideas?

Best regards,
Christian

P.S. I've also created a log file.

Since a GT1749VC is installed here, and a GT1749VA (also with a DPF attached) delivers significantly more power from low RPMs, I have some doubts about that.

Best regards, Rainer.
