The worst thing of all: Having the timing belt replaced at my usual dealership when my car had 120,000 km on it.
Due to a few issues, I ended up at a second car dealership. They told me that the previous mechanic hadn't installed the belt correctly, and that it would be best to replace it again. Apparently, it's one tooth over.
Unfortunately, I bought into that story and had it done again.
When I later realized that everything was a lie, I didn't pay the bill, and then I stopped receiving any more bills. |
If you take a repair shop to court, you must be able to prove that they did not perform the work properly. You've already been to another workshop, and that's probably also noted in your service booklet and in the documents from the other workshop.
Before visiting a lawyer, you need to figure out how to clearly prove that the faulty work was solely attributable to the second workshop and specifically affected your vehicle. Simply providing evidence of repair orders or invoices, along with the appearance that the second workshop... "It's not enough to just say the workshop was poorly done."
Based on what I can read in your report, it is likely that you will not be able to provide the necessary proof.
Good luck with the repair.
