It's definitely not as simple as it looks in the video... you can't just hold it with a pair of pliers like that. |
You can see that my videos are done without causing any damage.
Just make sure that the nozzle doesn't rotate along with the locking nut, but remains firmly fixed to the rest of the print head unit. X

Unfortunately, the nozzle didn't want to . How do I now get the remnants of the pens out?

To be honest, after 15 years, I've forgotten exactly how the internal components are assembled.
I might still have a suitable PD component lying around somewhere. I'm not at home right now, but I'll remember to check later this evening. Then I'll take it apart and see what can be done.
Best regards, Rainer.

Okay, I got a decent pipe wrench now, and it works .
I've now realized that I have the wrong nozzles here; they are designed for a +30% throughput.
What do you think? Can you drive them with a high boost setting without excessive smoke? What kind of results can you expect?
My engine back then barely produced any smoke with 0.232-sized injectors without needing any adjustments.

My AFN (Air Fuel Needle) back then barely produced any smoke at all with 0.232-sized nozzles without any adjustments... |
Hello,
I have no idea what kind of injectors you've installed, but it wouldn't make much sense if they were actually injecting 30% more fuel without any software adjustments.
Probably, you would also need to adjust the settings at the beginning of the injection process.
I don't think using nozzles other than the standard ones is a good idea because it creates additional problems.
Without adjusting the charge pressure, the VTG (variable turbine geometry) in your turbocharger will become clogged over time.
Unfortunately, I can't find the PD element I mentioned earlier; I probably already gave it away.
Best regards, Rainer.

Okay, I'll make sure to get the regular ones. Does anyone know about Wuzet products from Poland? They are supposed to be quite good.
I was just advised again not to only replace the nozzles without having the pressure differential (PD) element adjusted, because the opening pressure could change due to the tolerances of the nozzle insert itself.
Best regards from Tobi.

Hello,
The nozzle opening pressure is always higher with new nozzles than with worn ones. Unless the "tolerances" of the "new" nozzles fall within the range of wear, in which case I would question what kind of nozzles they are.
To the person making that statement, I would ask how they measure the opening pressure of a PD element.
Best regards, Rainer.

Hmm, I have no idea how one would measure that .
What kind of information is typically included in a test report, and what can you expect to find in it?

Okay, so did you have the PDE elements adjusted afterwards, or were you just careful when changing the tip?

No, just swapped them out. Do you need any injector nozzles?
