Hello,

Please provide a list of the diagnostic data points available from the engine control unit (ECU) for actuator diagnosis.
Ideally, I'd like to do it once selectively and once comprehensively.

I claim that your assertion that it's not possible is nonsense, and you have your head in the clouds. icon_wink.gif

Best regards, Rainer.
PS: What you're referring to are actuators, not "control units." It concerns the actuators that the engine control unit can control.

I've experienced this issue multiple times with the CRs.

Here are some pictures. Actuator diagnosis is not working with VCDS.

Good morning, Rainer!

As my colleague mentioned earlier, it is not possible to activate the fuel pump using the actuator diagnostics function on this vehicle.
Instead, it works on the T5 model via STG 01, basic settings, block 035.
You can run the pump for 30 seconds at a time there.

So far, so good!

What really annoyed me yesterday was the fact that the engine control unit kept failing (at the latest, after the pump had been running for 10 seconds)!
Unfortunately, I had to "break in" my new car.

What could be the reason for that? By the way, the STG (Steuergerät) has also been discontinued for other functions, including in my Polo 9N3!
It's strange because I feel like it happened much less frequently after the engine had warmed up somewhat!

Could it be that the engine control unit "freezes" at temperatures around freezing point?

Best regards, Volker.

Very quirky... it works with my boxes, but I've never needed it because the fuel pump runs for a few seconds when I turn on the ignition anyway. "Ignition ON/WAIT/OFF/ON..." has never caused me any problems.

No, but have you ever checked your onboard voltage?

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello Rainer!

I definitely repeated that 10-second pump exercise about 8 times. Despite that, I had to replace the filter - perhaps because of the perceived 5-liter capacity of the filter in the T5.... icon_wink.gif

The on-board voltage was actually completely gone! Then I charged it, and finally, I used the fully charged second battery to jump-start the car: it was always the same result.
And the same goes for the Polo...

Regards,
Volker.
