I stumbled upon my own post again. For all those following along, here is the completion.

After some disappointing research and with the help of forum members, it turned out that the origin of the ALWR control unit is "unknown." I was fooled by a seller on eBay. I then ordered a new one from VW, and sure enough, everything worked as it should.

The functions for headlights, high beams, and turn signals worked immediately, as the wiring hadn't changed except for the conversion to the appropriate connectors. The LED daytime running lights and their dimming function were implemented using a circuit I built myself. Interestingly, the LEDs turned off when the high beams were activated. This was resolved by increasing the dimming voltage from 7.5 V to 8 V (measured at the connector while in operation).

Since then, the xenon headlights have been working as they should, but with the added feature that the LED daytime running lights also dim when the turn signal is activated, which they don't originally do on the T5 GP.

The entire conversion was realized using the existing BCM (Body Control Module) and a custom-built auxiliary circuit.

Regards,

Peter.

P.S.: If anyone is able to manufacture my LED control circuit as a professional PCB with components, and at a reasonable price, I would be happy to share my accumulated experience.

Hi Peter,

Do you also use H7 bulbs for the high beam, just like the original?

The overall design seems very similar to the Sharan and Touran... and it also has the H7 turn signals.

The T5 only has fog lights that also function as cornering lights.

Can you possibly use a diagnostic tool to locate it and take a picture of the bridge?
(Sorry, I know this is a huge request - I had this problem with the Passat before, but I'm worried someone might steal the Passat if I'm standing on the bridge... oh wait, I can now lock it with the ignition on icon_smile.gif).

I don't know what the f*ck it was.
