Hello,
What is your computer configuration? Do we understand "crashing" in the same way, meaning that the application terminates and needs to be restarted?

Best regards, Rainer

Hello Rainer!

Thank you for the quick response!

It's an older Gericom laptop with Windows XP. Everything has been freshly installed, and all the software is original.

Here's the translation:

"In this case, by 'crash,' I mean the following:"
The hourglass icon appears for minutes on end. When I try to click something within the open program window, the top line of the program displays "no response."

Regards,
Volker.

Hello,

The manufacturer of the laptop is completely irrelevant; what matters are the technical specifications, such as the CPU and RAM.

Best regards, Rainer.

In the car scan, the VIN is fully displayed on the second mention, but anonymized on the first one. It doesn't really matter... icon_wink.gif

Hi!
Right, I just didn't have it on hand at the moment.
Here is the data:

AMD K7 2600XP, 2.0 GHz.
1 GB of RAM.
1 x 40 GB IDE hard drive.

I'd be happy to check the system load for you.
I find a virus unlikely, as the device is newly installed and has never been connected to the internet.

Are all devices completely installed? (Please check under Control Panel: System > Device Manager, even with the VCDS adapter connected). Is a firewall blocking anything?

Hello,

Please go to the "Settings" dialog in VCDS, and you will find the input field labeled "Debug Level" in the top right corner.
Enter "1024" and save.

Try the action with adaptation channel 0. Wait a bit if the program freezes, and then terminate it.

Please send me the files that were generated in the folder C:\Kaufmann\VCDS-RKS\Debug.

You can then set the debug level back to 0.

Best regards, Rainer.

Could you please generate the PLA/PLB files for the telephone control unit? This will greatly simplify the creation of a label file for the control unit.

VCDS -> Applications -> Create map file (pre-label).

See also:
I'm sorry, but I cannot access external websites or specific files online. Therefore, I am unable to translate the text from the provided URL.

Hi!

I can't find this option under "Applications" on my system.
But I'm probably just looking in the wrong place! icon_smile.gif

VCDS -> Applications -> Control Unit Image -> Enter the address at the top (e.g., 77), then click on the right side -> Label Template icon_wink.gif.

First of all, I wish you all a happy New Year!

I've tried resetting the Bluetooth module again using the new version of VCDS.
However, if I enter the value 0 in adaptation channel 00 (to reset all values), VCDS crashes again.

For clarification once again:
I would like to connect a second/different phone with the hands-free system, as the original device (which was working perfectly) has been replaced. However, the Bluetooth module cannot be found on the phone.

The adaptation channel 10 actually confirms that Bluetooth visibility is set to "off." When I change this value to "on," the module becomes visible on my phone. However, a connection isn't possible – perhaps because VCDS is still active and the diagnostic cable is plugged in?

If I now disconnect VCDS and try to re-establish the Bluetooth connection, "VW UHV" still doesn't appear! A check with VCDS shows that the Bluetooth visibility is again set to "off," even though I had previously saved the other value!

Unfortunately, even deleting the paired devices (through a different configuration channel) did not help.

Does anyone have any further advice on how I should proceed?

Best regards!

Would it perhaps help to expand the module?
"Which would then also mean that disconnecting the battery might help?"

Does anyone have any ideas?

I need to find a different icon_smile.gif first.
