In the instructions I had access to until this afternoon, the VMS code for Audi is listed, but unfortunately, nothing else.
The electrical kit is new, and the control unit is branded with "trail-tec."
I finally received instructions from the supplier's support team on how to use VCDS for coding.
I will compare my code with the instructions over the weekend.
If anyone has any more ideas, I'm still open to suggestions.

Apparently, older control units from Jäger also exhibited this behavior. They were then replaced with units featuring newer software, so it's possible that this is an older model with a different label.

The instructions clarify some questions, but also raise new ones, such as:

Okay, that's nice, but what is the significance of the changed bits in the ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) encoding and within the engine control unit (ECU)?
More helpful than names like "Bit 3," etc., would be the name of the corresponding function. Fortunately, this is recognizable from the other control units in the screenshots.
Could you please provide a Screenshot of the first byte of the ACC encoding in the LCode assistant and the changes made in the engine control unit?

Is your list of coded control units exhaustive?

Where does your coding guide come from?

Please check the control units 3C.

Set the coding to (xx1xxxx) = Trailer detection control unit installed.

and

Control unit 6D

Byte 4, Bit 0: Trailer detection enabled.


Before you start experimenting, save all the existing coding configurations of the control units.

Ideally, you should retrieve the coding information from the scan before you start the conversion process.

Is the error still present if you reset all the settings?

I'm having a coding problem with the ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) control unit, as I've retrofitted a trailer hitch. When coding the ACC control unit, I'm stuck. The last value I need to change is from value 8 (trailer hitch not installed) to value 1 (trailer hitch installed). However, the ACC control unit doesn't accept the value 1 and displays error code 22. This prevents me from changing the setting. Question: Could it be that I need to install a different control unit for the trailer hitch that is compatible with the ACC?

I assume you didn't replace the "1" with an "8", but rather calculated correctly.

What encoding did you use without AHK, and what value did you calculate as the new encoding?

What did you code/calculate, and in what order?

The code for the trailer hitch function in the ACC system is: 0051168. VCDS then displays a menu indicating that the last digit, which is 8, signifies "without" a trailer hitch, while the digit 1 signifies "with" a trailer hitch.

[13 - Distance Control] - Reduced stopping distance by 1/2 in the ADR control unit (J428).

[Coding - 07]

Convert the encoded value into a decimal number.
Subtract the value 7 from the obtained decimal number.
Convert the newly calculated decimal number into a hexadecimal number.
Enter the received hexadecimal number as a code into the control unit.


Example: Encoding without AHK: 008190 -> HEX 8190 -> DEC 33168. Now, the 5th digit, which is an 8, is changed to a 1 -> DEC 33161 -> in HEX 8189 -> New encoding with AHK is 008189.


Otherwise, I'd like to ask again: What changes/code modifications did you make, and in what order?

And possibly a complete vehicle scan to see all the control units.

Then it will be easier for everyone to help you.

I didn't receive any instructions with it, as it was purchased used and had previously been installed in an Audi.
