Nothing will change if you continue to believe you're always right and ignore any advice given.

Your handbrake is too tightly adjusted. This causes the tension to shift from left to right and vice versa with every braking action, every suspension movement, and every pothole. The seals on the piston cannot compensate for this. Any play in the wheel bearings, unfavorable tolerances in brake components, or improperly fitting replacement parts can exacerbate the problem. In order for things to improve, the initial tension from the handbrake must be completely removed, regardless of what your vehicle registration document says (which one, where did you get it?), and the pistons need to be retracted again.
We can't get anywhere without it.
Of course, it is assumed that parts are installed that are clearly compatible with the vehicle and brake type. This has already been inquired about.

It should be clear to you that the random and alternating hot spots on the rear left or right cannot be caused by a problem in a single brake circuit, nor in the ABS or the wheel speed sensor. Therefore, a swollen hose is also unlikely to be the cause, as it would have been noticed by the TÜV inspector. The same applies to a 5-tooth gap in the handbrake lever linkage. At most, there could be a problem with the brake force distributor; i.e., it might be so severely corroded internally that the return function doesn't always work.
Alternatively, we can stop here.

I actually overlooked the fact that the problem is shifting.
There's nothing I can add to what you've said.

"Only original or brand-name parts are used. The dimensions of the pads and rotors have also been re-measured. Also included is the original RLF (hydraulic control unit) from VAG in its latest version. The workshop wants to swap out parts, but I can do that myself without paying for labor. The calipers were completely disassembled, cleaned, and tested for functionality."
And the handbrake as well. Every possible setting has been tried, from completely loose to adjusted according to the manufacturer's specifications. It seems to be releasing properly. However, after driving 25 kilometers, smoke starts coming from the rear. Two mechanic friends of mine (who specialize in VW) also can't explain it.
The problem usually goes away on its own after a while.
It's possible someone knows if problems are more likely to occur when the piston is fully retracted, and where else I could check.
Making a diagnosis from afar is always difficult, of course!
You can be sure that the parts and workmanship are of good quality. If it were just a loose handbrake cable, it would be too simple.

Daniel.
