A check-up at our VW workshop costs 50 euros.
Is that why you want to delay it for as long as possible?

Given that your symptoms are somewhat unusual (no difference with or without the LMM, the regulating valve resistance is too low), it's not easy to make a remote diagnosis without further data.

Let me take a peek into my crystal ball:
1) No difference with or without the MAF sensor: indicates a faulty MAF sensor.
2) 00575 017 Intercooler pressure regulation difference occasionally: Turbocharger pressure problems, possibly related to the mass airflow sensor.
3) Only 15 ohms of resistance, but no error codes stored: strange, could be related to point two.

But this 'guessing' won't really help you much. Without measurements, you won't get very far. 50 euros for the test drive is already quite a bit. But replacing the mass airflow sensor based on a hunch is even more expensive. Perhaps the diode method is an option (search function: 'MAF sensor diode' and related terms).

Generally, I would recommend building or buying a diagnostic adapter. It costs less than the 50 euros for the test drive, and it's reusable. Furthermore, you can then perform all the measurements yourself and evaluate them yourself (VW's data isn't all-knowing...). And with specific measurement values, we can also help you here.

So, either hope for a miracle, or use diagnostic adapters (see the technical article).

Regards,
Private, which unfortunately cannot perform miracles icon_smile.gif.

No, you've misunderstood something.

Without LMM, I have absolutely no performance.

I don't notice any difference whether I unplug the connector from the solenoid valve or leave it plugged in.

Oops.

Okay, I misunderstood you. The fact that there's no change with or without the boost control valve definitely indicates that something is wrong with the boost pressure (I noticed that, didn't I icon_biggrin.gif).

But what and why? Without data, there's no chance of finding an exact solution...

The value of 15 ohms is unusual, but according to the engine control unit (as indicated by the error memory), it's not interpreted as a short circuit, so it might still be working. You could try replacing it (it only costs about 30 euros) or check its function (by blowing air through it with and without voltage).

But if none of that helps, please provide me with detailed measurements (from a hardware store, LDA for <35 Euros, or via a diagnostic interface).

Regards,
Private.

Okay, here we go again, I'm going to bother you.

I think I measured the resistance in the wrong place.
I measured the black 'thing' that is attached to the cathedral.
There are black hoses leading there.

Is the solenoid valve that's screwed onto the fender the correct one?
(red and blue hose)

It also has a resistance of 28 ohms.

However, the result remains the same: it has no effect on the engine's performance, whether the connector is plugged in or not.

This weekend, I finally had some time and I found the cause.

It turned out to be the solenoid valve after all.
Right now, I've bypassed the valve, which means I'm limited to a maximum boost pressure of 0.6 bar.

The engine performance is noticeably worse now, but what's surprising is that I can reach 190 km/h on the highway (according to the speedometer). My car is only officially registered for a top speed of 175 km/h.

Does the top speed have a lot to do with the turbo boost, or can I be happy that I have a Golf that's been properly broken in?

Alex.

I've never been able to determine the maximum speed ('Vmax') in a fully functional state. The nearest highway is almost a 1-hour drive away from here.
