Hi Martin,

It's not easy to take a good photo in this muddy weather, especially since I don't have a ramp or platform.

Basically, it's a panel from underneath, but it's made up of several parts. For example, the central section can be unscrewed if you need to access the oil pan for an oil change.

The situation isn't entirely straightforward either, as there are various ventilation systems involved, and it's all built around the technology.

I need to check at home to see if I can find a usable representation of the part somewhere – I'll let you know this evening.

Do TDIs not have an electric auxiliary heater? I drive a Fiat Stilo 1.9 JTD. In my car, two resistors heat the heating circuit when the water temperature is below 77 degrees. Mine takes about 10 minutes (at 60 km/h in fourth gear) to warm up the interior in -5 degrees Celsius. After 15 minutes, the engine reaches its operating temperature.

"Even at -5°C, I haven't had any problems. The issue only occurred for me when it was -15°C. However, the 1Z is an older engine, and with the newer TDis models, it shouldn't have any problems even at lower temperatures."

"@Dokky: TDI engines also have something similar, at least almost all of them. There are three glow plugs that heat the coolant at low temperatures - the limit is somewhere around 0 or 5 degrees Celsius. Definitely not up to 77 degrees."
