As far as I know, 45 different LLMs are now being offered as interchangeable components! The one from 1Z is also included.

For 88 EUR, you could almost afford to keep one in stock icon_smile.gif.

The 'stocking' is failing because this price is only valid in exchange for something else.
(and is likely at least partially based on that).
If you can't return the old one, then 'it's okay' if you use a replacement part.

'This is the official regulation. I have personally experienced differences when dealing with multiple workshops owned by the same person, ranging from them issuing refunds to refusing them. This suggests a justification for the price reduction. I can't imagine that this part can be regenerated at a low cost!'

I was just at VW.

The replacement cost for the mass airflow sensor (MAF) for my 1996 Mitsubishi Pajero with a 1Z engine is 88 EUR.

So, this is the replacement for the 074 906 461, which is the Pierburg part.

By the way, the original price was 180 EUR.

Did you have to return the old one, or were you allowed to keep it?

@joergs

I was just asking.
But I will have to give away the old one, as the word "in exchange" icon_smile.gif implies.

Now, we just need to clarify whether the air mass drop-off at 3000 RPM in single-cylinder mode is normal.

Should I log it? (My dad is driving my 1Z now, so it's not a problem for him.)

VW has declared all mass airflow sensors (MAF sensors) to be replacement parts.

Whether it's Hitachi, Bosch, or Pierburg!

What makes me happy, of course, is that I've never had any problems with my Pierburg! But maybe that will change in the distant future!

It's also strange that all the language models now only cost €75 plus VAT, regardless of what they cost before!

Regards,

Manuel.

Supply and demand play a significant role in many things. Additionally, the monopoly position of the suppliers was abolished as of January 1, 2004.
