Hi.

Has anyone ever driven a DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox)?

I just saw that the 140 hp TDI Touran with DSG (dual-clutch transmission) is slower from 0 to 100 km/h than the one with a 6-speed manual transmission.
What's the point of the GDPR then?

"Just to lose 3 km/h at top speed and consume 0.5 liters more?"

Slightly startled.

I haven't driven it in the TDI version yet.
But then I got the Audi TT 3.2 DSG, and I was completely convinced by it.
You definitely can't achieve that kind of gear change with a standard transmission.
In sport mode, the gear changes are really impressive. In comfort mode, the gear changes took a bit too long because it always synchronizes the engine speed exactly before engaging the clutch.
Despite everything, it greatly enhances the fun with colors. icon_twisted.gif
I think the extra cost is worth it.

I would say this is to prevent the annoying head bobbing of passengers. -> Since there shouldn't be any more load shedding. I think automatic drivers understand what I'm talking about, when the heads are constantly pointing straight back from 0-200 km/h icon_cool.gif.

Best, Manuel.

I do drive automatics fairly often (like in my neighbor's 530d icon_twisted.gif), but it wasn't really consistent. You just don't have time to press the accelerator, because the automatic transmission shifts so quickly.

Hello,

Okay, I believe that the engine doesn't pull as aggressively as it used to, like it would with a lower gear icon_twisted.gif. But with a V10 TDI, it should work }.

Best, Manuel.

I actually meant that, despite the fast shifting, it doesn't happen without an interruption of tractive force.

Best regards, WarLord.

Greetings, WarLord.

for me, it's already icon_smile.gif

Unfortunately, everyone is avoiding the issue of the DSG here icon_sad.gif.

I have a Volkswagen Golf V 2.0 TDI with a DSG transmission.

I'm not familiar with nodding your head when changing lanes.

It's possible that he loses a few hundredths of a second in the sprint compared to using the normal gear ratio.
In practice, the DSG is faster because it always shifts automatically and perfectly.

According to the speedometer, mine goes up to 220 km/h, but I haven't had a really clear stretch of road yet, because I think it could go even faster...

I am very satisfied with the DSG, but it is very expensive!!!!!!

Fuel consumption is approximately 7.4 liters per 100 km (only filled up twice so far...).

The SEAT ALTEA accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.9 seconds with the manual transmission and in 9.8 seconds with the DSG. The top speed is 201 km/h for both versions. Therefore, I don't understand why the Touran with the DSG performs so poorly.
