The curves are clean, the torque and power are good, however, it has 15 kW less than it should (it currently has 87). The diagnosis is that the boost pressure is always lagging between 0.3 and 0.4 bar, but eventually reaches its target value,

Hi Peter,

"It could also be caused by a blocked exhaust: above the turbocharger, "not enough pressure is dropping," which means there's insufficient drive energy, resulting in a corresponding drop in boost pressure, leading to a "double" power loss."
1. due to insufficient boost pressure.
2. due to excessive back pressure in the exhaust system.

"However, I don't think you can directly explain the excessive soot with that icon_sad.gif. . . but you could always attribute it to the tuning icon_rolleyes.gif."

morning

I mentioned the idea about the exhaust before, but I also had that problem with a 1.9 engine, and the power loss was significant. But okay, I'll take a look.

I'm going to look up the 'hoppeltest' now.

Enjoy your meal.

Just so you know, my search was successful, and it not only found an LMM (lambda sensor), but also got me a new turbocharger from VW, for free.

For now, at least, everything is back to normal on paper.

IMM 950 mg/H
turbo 2142 mbar

values from ad group 10

I still have this feeling that something might be wrong, because before the repair, the 'boost pressure limit exceeded' error would occasionally appear in the system memory, but now it's gone. Hopefully, it stays that way, but somehow...

The soot is better, but still present, but in my opinion, it's now coming from the chip.

Let's see, if I feel like it, I might put in another solenoid valve and fix the AGR (exhaust gas recirculation) leak, maybe you'll notice the difference now.

Black smoke from a faulty mass airflow sensor = virtually impossible (with a 99.9% probability).

Enjoy your meal.

I didn't claim that there was no LIMM or soot. I only said that there was a new one. The LIMM was partly responsible for the loss of power, and the turbo was responsible for the soot.

As I said, the values are correct again, but the soot is still there, not as bad as before, but still clearly visible.

I'm going to try another EGR valve replacement and see what happens. Usually, that should improve the soot emissions. I don't think it's the catalytic converter anymore, since everything else seems to be working fine.

Peter.
