By the way, the LMM (lambda measuring module) is also not approved for use in biodiesel environments, just like the pumps.
Oh well... basically, none of my parts have a biodiesel compatibility approval. Not the air filter, not the oil filter, not the wheel bolts, not even the cigarette lighter or the radio... and neither does my parking space, let alone the road tunnels I drive through every day, the Earth's atmosphere, the solar system, the galaxy, the universe, or spacetime itself.
Screw the approval. Get rid of that crap . Cheers.

Volkswagen Golf III TD, manufactured in 1997, with explicit approval for biodiesel use, confirmed by a further inquiry in 1998.
Received from Wolfsburg. In 2001, the pump was leaking. Had it repaired by Bosch service.
Statement from the Bosch service department: 'We perform these repairs multiple times every week.'
'Bosch does not approve of these pumps, but Volkswagen is allowing their use anyway.'
Conclusion: Volkswagen is ripping off its customers; they're just trying to avoid paying the costs.
That was the last Volkswagen, plain and simple...

Hi,
"Does this affect other brands?" Yes, definitely. I can talk about a Volvo 850 and an Audi 100 (both with 5-cylinder engines) that were both affected. Both Audi and Volvo tried to convince lawyers and the courts, but it didn't really help anyone, and it's not very relevant today, see the prices of biodiesel/DinoDiesel.
What I have to say is that it's obvious to everyone that biodiesel is more environmentally friendly than conventional diesel. Tapping into an ancient reservoir where biomass was converted into oil without human intervention, and then transporting/refining the product, would be cheaper (and also more ecologically sound) than growing, harvesting, processing, etc., biomass using x number of tractors and fertilizers.Only the environmental damage caused by tanker leaks or ruptures is impactful and tragic in the media. Ultimately, however, even in the long run, it is not environmentally harmful because this oil is "eco-friendly" and can therefore be broken down naturally. Of course, this doesn't help the residents of the affected coastlines or the birds, but the mess will eventually verschandeln itself up over time (!).
Therefore, it is important to look for genuine alternatives.

Have you changed the fuel filter?
If not, the old wood has been affected by the mixture of RME and resin, which is perfectly normal. Sommer: A4 B5 Avant 2,5 TDI Quattro Facelift (AKN silber)

A2 1.4 TDI AFM.
The previous driver must have filled up with biodiesel.
Auxiliary heater completely flooded and failed - replaced under the used car warranty.
Problems with the particulate filter (DPF) elements - they're really getting to me - could it be related to the biodiesel?
In any case, neither Bosch nor VEP approve the use of biofuels for their products, and neither does Webasto or Eberspächer.
From my experience with testing equipment, I can detect deposits very quickly – I would never put something like that in my fuel tank.

Well, I think that RME hasn't always been unfairly criticized.
For many years, things went well for me, and I...
AFN nun schon über 160 tsd Kilometer mit RME gefahren. In this...
Zeit habe ich den Betriebsstofffilter zwei mal gewechselt. Now, it stands...
a third time, as the performance decreases at higher speeds.
There's not much to complain about.
If a vehicle has been run on RME (biodiesel) since the beginning, then...
which, in my opinion, isn't a problem. You just had to...
to stick with it. That is no longer possible, as at least...
There are no more RME filling stations near us.
So far, I have only read about some problems with...
"some had a fuel filter, while others failed very quickly after being installed."
Suffered from issues related to switching to diesel fuel due to a faulty EGR system.
The latter is understandable from my point of view, if one...
understands that RME removes the plasticizers from the seals.
resolves.
I will definitely also share photos of my poetry.
Do you want me to do the ESP check now, since you're planning to replace them soon?
I will create them and then post them here in the forum.

No.

Eberspächer does issue approvals for its heaters, but these vary depending on the type. For example, the Hydronic 2 D5ZF is approved for up to 50/50 mixtures of "alternative fuels" according to DIN V51606. The D5W is approved without restriction. Extracts from the relevant data sheets are readily available.
That's the theory on paper. However, the reality is that all these heating systems don't really tolerate rapeseed methyl ester (RME) in practice. This is because the flash point of RME is higher than that of diesel, and RME only burns completely at a certain temperature. As a result, the heating system tends to become increasingly carbonized. However, there is actually an approval for its use. Passat Variant BGW 2005

I don't have any experience with biodiesel, but I have a customer who uses a Galaxy vehicle and mixes in up to 50% used cooking oil, like sunflower oil. The car still runs well with 150,000 km on the odometer. Gruß, der Teileklaus

That's remarkable, especially in winter. Other people also experience problems with the Sharan's auxiliary heater, even when using regular diesel (which now often contains up to 7% biodiesel). Passat Variant BGW 2005

"Political science is a completely different field with entirely different problems."
This product does NOT dissolve seals, as it lacks the solvent properties found in products like RME ester.

Hello!
I used to maintain a friend's Volkswagen Caddy TDI, with a 1.9-liter engine and 90 horsepower, manufactured in 1999, for several years.
"From 80,000 to 240,000 kilometers. It has only been driven on biodiesel, and there were no problems that I could associate with it."
The only thing I noticed was when he couldn't find biodiesel somewhere and had to refuel with regular diesel.
Then, after a few weeks, the fuel filter failed.
Otherwise, everything went perfectly smoothly.
Personally, I only use proper diesel fuel in my old Golf 4 because the car has already accumulated a significant amount of mileage, and I don't want to risk doing anything that could cause problems. Grüße, Steffen!

You're also forced to pay a 7% tax on those products by the government, whether you like it or not. This applies even in the coldest winter months. Only the premium brands are free of this additive. Passat Variant BGW 2005

Okay, then I'd like to share my experiences on this topic as well:
I drive an Audi 80 TDI with a 1Z engine, which has basically been in the family since it was new.
My father never used biodiesel because he couldn't stand the smell (and I'm not sure how Audi, despite being part of the VAG group, handled the official approval for it...), and neither did I; however, the fuel pump failed after about 280,000 km.
While it's not a direct experience with biodiesel, it does show that most pumps are unlikely to remain perfectly sealed forever.
And where can you find the few "eternally reliable" examples without pollution-related issues? Of course: as a bargain on eBay .
Best regards,
Jonas.
