Hello, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I unfortunately had to work and had to leave at 4 AM.
The thing with the central locking probably won't work, because the driver's side only locks if the door is also closed, which isn't possible when you're removing it (unless you 'cheat' by manually locking the latch).
That's absolutely correct, but a little bit of trickery is allowed, isn't it?
@Sunny: I'll send you a private message about the pictures, and then I'll post them here so everyone can see them.
I've sent you the pictures.
Best regards,

There was someone who was quick, yes, the IT people .
So, it's about this yellow plastic part .
The original looks similar, but it's not attached to the metal bracket that holds the disc with two screws.
In the original, there is a roughly 4x4mm square hole in the metal bracket, and the 'plastic part' has a 'protrusion' of the same size that is inserted through the hole and expands using the two hooks .
Is the spring loose, or has a hook broken off? Does the plastic part slip out of the metal holder? If so, you're in trouble.
Possible solution: Spread the part, fix it, or separate the plastic part from the rail (without removing anything }). Then, insert a small screw through the opening, and secure it with a washer and nut.
Best regards,

Hi,
"Thank you, that helps me understand it better!"
The perfect solution would be to completely replace the plastic part with a corresponding metal part that can slide on the rail, connect to the cable system, and be screwed onto the window holder. It would probably be a bit louder than with the plastic part, but who cares?
The second-best solution, in my opinion, seems to be a modification similar to the one shown in the accessory department's pictures, because it looks more reliable than the construction you described (essentially, the version with the screw).
I'll try to figure out if the reinforced repair kit from the Golf can be used effectively here (i.e., if it can be adapted), or if we need to create something ourselves.
Otherwise: Which idiot came up with this idea of using plastic parts?

I didn't think the accessory version was that bad, but unfortunately, it was designed for a 4-door model, which wouldn't fit (2-door models have longer doors and windows).
No matter what, you could probably get it again from E*** for double the money .
The auction ran for 7 days, and I received around 50 emails. About 30 of them wrote that this plastic part had stopped working.
I'm going to try to figure out if the enhanced repair kit from the Golf can be used effectively here (i.e., if it can be adapted), or if we need to build something ourselves.
I'm sure many people are interested, and I think you will share your solution with us.
Thank you, that helps me understand it better!
Even 'newcomers' help where they can .
Best regards,

Sure, I'll share it... with a photo story. But first, it needs to get warmer, and I still need to research the Golf 4 parts, because I want to disassemble it exactly once and not have to take it apart again to get more parts.

Well, you don't stay a newbie for long... with each post, you feel more like you belong .
When I joined here in September/October 2001, I didn't even have a family yet... I was still driving an AEX-powered Polo. And the fact that I ended up with that specific car is partly thanks to this forum.

If your car is really that "outdated," at least you're lucky that the electronic fuel injection system doesn't have any uncontrolled behavior -> maybe it's actually advanced rather than outdated?
Then, at most, what could happen is that your security system, in a fit of boredom, unlocks the doors...
"However, I would also be interested in seeing the photo tutorial, especially regarding the removal of the door panels."
I recently noticed a slight leak near the driver's side door of my Ibiza.
Rain drips between the door frame and the trim onto the rubber seal, and in winter, depending on the temperature, it can cause an additional door lock due to ice formation . Gruß Ulf

Okay, let's see who starts building first. I probably won't start until at least March, if it's warm enough then. Before that, I'll also check out the Ibi forum again (I haven't looked at it in months), maybe there will already be photos from people who have replaced the speakers, which could support Joachim and Sunny's descriptions.

However, in such a case, the doors would close again after 30 seconds, provided that no one has opened them in the meantime. So far, there have been no issues with this.

Hi Jan,
Yes, I'm familiar with that re-locking feature.
But what makes you so sure that it would still work, when the main server itself is malfunctioning...? Gruß Ulf

Hi,
"Of course, it depends on the specific error, but if it opens without a valid reason, the problem is likely related to the receiver or the wiring of the opening switch, which has little to do with this security feature. Therefore, I consider 'opens and closes repeatedly' to be at least as likely as 'stays open' – statistically, that would already cover half of the cases. However, this is pure speculation."
