Hi Alex,
Currently, KPower is a standalone program. It is likely that it will continue to allow for simple log file import in the future, without necessarily having to run as a plugin.
KPower, as a VAG-COM plugin, would have the advantage that the user would only need to press a "start measurement" button, and the program would automatically handle everything else (selecting measurement blocks, providing instructions to the driver). The intermediate step of saving and potentially editing a log file would then be eliminated.
Currently, it works like this:
- 3rd or 4th gear, with a rolling speed of 1500 RPM.
- Start logging of measurement block 5 (or the block that contains speed and RPM data).
- Full throttle to the maximum RPM.
- Depress the clutch and let the car roll to a stop.
- Stop logging.
- Import log from KPower.
- Adjust vehicle data.
- Check the performance curve.
If the weather is good, I might try logging some data myself. So far, I've only used pre-existing log files because of the snow and other weather conditions.
Best regards, Rainer.

Hello,
Now that I have a semi-professional diagnostic system, I also have access to the K-Power tool.
Here's my initial contribution:
My control unit is too slow to log MWBlock 005 and 006 simultaneously.
"So, I only log the 006 (which represents km/h), and then I manually add the RPM value to the corresponding row using a formula."
All of this is done using Excel.
I can then easily copy and paste the values into the spreadsheet.
Unfortunately, that doesn't work with K-Power.
I'll test it today with version 3.0.4 (I'm not sure which version came with the Semiprof diagnostic tool).
Sure, here's the translation:
"Best regards," or "Sincerely,".

Hi,
Copying and pasting should also work... version 3.0.4 is currently included in all systems.
[Edit: As of January 1, 2006: the current version is 3.0.6]
Best regards, Rainer.
