VWN and Xenon have always been something "special." When we bought ours at the Tradeport, it was a first owner vehicle from VW AG, never registered, with only 91 km on the odometer. The halogen lamps were lying in the trunk next to the original winter tires... they were always installed later. Probably, they are rarely ordered, or someone just kept falling asleep. icon_eek.gif

Matthias,

I think they finally changed that in version 5.2.

Peter,

No, I didn't manage it.

Today, I'm just going to apply stickers to the Touran... maybe tomorrow too.

Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation.

... there was another T.

I don't know what the f*ck it was.

Hello!

Okay, finally I had some time to tackle the issue again. Of course, something was wrong, and the irony is that I created the problem myself.

I used a long test lead to check for continuity between the headlight connector and the automatic leveling control (ALC) unit connector. And lo and behold, two wires were actually swapped on the left headlight. Why? It's simple: PIN 1 should originally be yellow/green, and PIN 2 should originally be yellow/white. Since I ordered the original wire colors when ordering the cables, and there was no 0.35mm² cable with a yellow/green color available, I chose yellow/gray as a replacement. And now, in direct comparison, it's almost impossible to distinguish between the two wires; they look very similar. I swapped the cables, and just to be cautious, I also checked all the other connections, and everything fits. What surprises me is that there was no error message.

Okay, time to start coding. I set the basic configuration to "GO" and then tried "Done," but no luck. Still getting the error message. At least now the headlights are moving down and up synchronously. No matter what I do, the error won't go away. If I clear the error, the headlights move down and up once, and then the error reappears.

Only after performing the "Basic Settings" by selecting the function "Acknowledge Basic Settings" (which logically follows from the translation, but I simply ignored it) is the new basic setting accepted. A confirmation is also briefly displayed in green text. I have no idea why I always overlooked this; I was just so focused on the "Basic Settings," almost operating blindly. Now everything works, although the dynamic adjustment is a bit slow, but it's functional.

So, to summarize:

Step 1: Select "Basic Settings," then click "go" when you are finished and have adjusted the headlights. Click "done" to go back.
Step 2: Select the "Acknowledge Basic Settings" function, then click "go", then "done". Go back. If the setting has been accepted, everything should work.

Please correct me if I have forgotten anything.

Thank you for your help, and I wish you a pleasant evening.

Greetings,

Peter.
