I am fully aware of that. Have you ever directly powered an N280 yourself? The one in my A3 is definitely making a clicking sound, and it's quite noticeable. Of course, you can only hear it when the engine isn't running.

No, I haven't directly powered a gimbal compressor yet, but I would have expected that. That's why I phrased it as a question.

To give you a heads-up: the climate is cooling down again after replacing the compressor and the dryer .

Our company's workshop evacuated and refilled the system. I took care of the rest, which included installing the compressor and the dryer.

Since the compressor is always driven by the shaft due to its clutch, I deactivated the clutch disc when installing the new compressor because I was driving with the air conditioning system evacuated (to avoid damaging the compressor).

The colleagues properly filled the system today, and this afternoon I reactivated the take-away disc. The air conditioning is not cooling .

I read the memory using VCDS. The climate control system reports a short circuit after the positive terminal. Then I looked at the measuring blocks and noticed that in the "LO" position, the compressor current is 110 mA instead of 820 mA.

Okay, first a beer and some thinking. I've checked the electrical system many times... the cables look good. I unplugged the connector again and treated the contacts with Ballistol. I plugged the connector back in and started the motor. AC set to LO... and there you go, it's cooling }.
