Hello Thomas,
Okay, then I misspoke. We don't have a report specifically for modified nozzles. However, we do have reports for all electronic performance enhancements of turbo engines from the VAG group, as well as DB, BMW, PSA, Alfa, and others.
You're right. That would be too specific. It might be possible to offer it as an option, but the question is how many we could sell. It's purely a business decision. The expert assessment costs approximately €3500. And that cost, divided by the number of kits sold, determines the cost per vehicle... If there are enough interested people here, I would be happy to do it.
I believe the level of expertise in this forum is quite high, which makes it enjoyable. What I don't like are statements like those found here, which are overly negative and generalize everything across the board.
I'm having a hard time understanding what my colleague from Graz said. It's probably due to his lack of knowledge. I can confidently say that I know these guys well, as they are all former employees of my branch in Graz. It's likely obvious where they got their expertise. It's a shame, really.
Of course, I can't be online all the time, but I will try to participate more actively in the future. If you have any questions or interesting topics, feel free to reach out to me via email.

Hello Jörg,
The reason I'm only getting back to you today is quite simple: a customer visited me yesterday and gave me this thread. I've never worked with forums before, so it's a new experience for me.
FeReady.
If such a negative post causes you to lose trust and decide never to visit us again, I will have to accept it, but I find it not only unfortunate but also arrogant of you.
Because you also surely make mistakes sometimes that are forgiven. That's what I would hope for as well.
There are also positive comments, so perhaps you should try to be a bit more objective and consider whether everything we do is actually bad.

Hello Olaf,
For the next shipment, you could consider reducing your travel time when driving to our partner's location in Hamburg.
We strongly advise against using K&N air filters on turbocharged engines. They offer no significant benefits because any increase in airflow is offset by the engine's electronics, which regulate the boost pressure electronically to maintain the original level.
However, the major disadvantage is that the already sensitive mass airflow sensors are likely to fail even faster. This means that the oil will leak out of the filter and saturate the wire inside the MAF sensor, which heats up to over 160 degrees Celsius.
Greetings from Koblenz.

I wasn't referring to myself, but to the customer who was treated that way by you. I wanted to say that I would understand if he were to politely decline your offer.
I haven't said anything at all about the quality of your work. It might be okay, even though I personally know of two other examples, besides this one, that went very badly.
What I'm also interested in is the issue of how to deal with the Omega process. Is there a risk that if you choose Wetterau, you might have similar experiences?

That's just nonsense! That only happens to people who are too stupid to verschandeln and re-oil the filter according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Just as often, any (sports) aftermarket filter is referred to as a 'K&N,' which is also incorrect. These cheap imitations from brands like Raid and Jamex cannot be compared to the quality of K&N filters. K&N uses a combination of multiple filter layers, while these cheaper alternatives usually only use a single layer of foam. It's no surprise that the mass airflow sensor (MAF) gets damaged over time with those inferior filters.
With a properly maintained original K&N filter, I haven't encountered any defective mass airflow sensors (MAF sensors) yet, and I've seen quite enough of them...

The good employee from Wetterau that I praised actually recommended this air filter to me. My expensive mass airflow sensor thanked me for it by failing .

Dear Jörg,
I can assure you that I am capable of adjusting a dataset if there is a problem. As I mentioned, I wasn't involved, and I don't know what issue the Opel had, nor what changes were made or not made.
I believe my employees did a good job, because if they hadn't, the customer would have definitely come back and reported the issue again.
Some people seem to have a strange way of showing off. I don't think it could have been anything else.

@uwe
If hot-wire mass airflow sensors are installed in the vehicle (which is now common everywhere), I strongly advise against using K&N filters or similar products.
reason:
The LMM (likely referring to a mass airflow meter) requires a separation efficiency of >99% from the filter, with a maximum particle size of 20µm on the verschandeln air side (but please avoid having too many of them, as particles larger than 60µm can even cause mechanical damage to the LMM). Water or oil have absolutely no place in this component because they will deposit on the sensor element (even though Audi still draws air in from the front grille). Especially oil is an ideal magnet for dust particles. They accumulate, become embedded, and that's it. The layer is only a few µm thick!
If you absolutely want to use a fabric air filter, it's crucial to maintain it at least as frequently as a standard paper air filter. Ideally, even more often. Unlike paper filters, fabric filters initially lose their ability to trap dirt while the airflow remains almost unaffected. This is where the danger lies. Additionally, the risk increases with smaller filter surface areas (e.g., conical shapes). The resulting high air velocities can then cause oil and dirt to be drawn into the engine.
and please stay calm and objective!
CU Gremlin.

Hello Uwe,
Okay, I'm sorry. As I mentioned before, they are no longer available. However, they weren't particularly highly praised here either.
I hope the LMM was at least covered by warranty.
By the way, the one from Mercedes is significantly cheaper (around €80) and fits just as well.
If someone needs the best number, I can look it up for them tomorrow.

Hey, look what's going on here... Just when I dedicate a few hours to studying...
I didn't want to stir up any trouble with the K&N thing; I'm aware of the oil-related issues. That's precisely why I wanted to point out that potential *** customers should be prepared for the possibility of being sold something they don't want, especially if someone is trying to manipulate the price. Those who are already aware of this risk are less likely to end up leaving the store with a K&N product they didn't actually want.
Und Why should I accept these disadvantages and still pay for it?
To the Hamburg branch:
I will keep that in mind for future reference. Unfortunately, there is no readily available list of support points online, which is why I haven't considered them before. By the way, the website ********.de does not display properly on a fast browser like Opera 7. You can't even reach the button to skip the introductory animation.
What you don't know, you can't recommend. I decided that calling all the providers wasn't worth it. You end up wasting more time and phone costs than you might save in the end. And there's no guarantee that you'll get the "best" tuner that way. Actually, I just wanted a standard chip with TÜV certification that works properly.
Otherwise, I generally haven't had good experiences with support staff (which I don't need to go into detail about here, as the email is already too long).
Similarly, *** has a kind of distributor with a physical presence in Hamburg (I'm not exactly sure about the business relationship, but they officially sell *** software there, regardless of who is actually behind the "*** software").
Unfortunately, the prices weren't as favorable as I had hoped. When I contacted the main office, it didn't result in them resolving the issue for me as expected. Instead, I was directed back to "Hildesheim" with an even cheaper offer. That was actually fine with me, because I knew those people, and they were always very accommodating and helpful when it came to troubleshooting and replacing parts during my travels, especially since VW dealerships often only accept cars for service if you agree to a large bill. Die "Excessive use is irrefutably suspected in cases of a defect in the powertrain."
Regards,
Olaf.
P.S.
Okay, since we're already talking about it, let's make sure everyone gets a fair chance to lose their "fat." The purpose of this thread is to inform and educate.
Someone from B&B once tried to poach me at a "Lupo gathering" (I happened to be coming from the south and it was conveniently on my way... everyone got upset about the gray film on my car).
It was something like this: "I don't know why your car is smoking and going into limp mode, but it's definitely better than ***. So, have them remove your chip and come to us; we can fix it easily."
Abe"It's a good option for future actions, and it could be a worthwhile deal for a bed and breakfast."
The willingness to help definitely decreased noticeably when it became clear that I wouldn't be paying the exorbitant prices for bed and breakfasts in addition to my existing *** costs.
Therefore, I politely declined (again, partly because of the long journey; the so-called "support dealers" in Lübeck only send control units back and forth). As they say, too many cooks spoil the broth. If something goes wrong, everyone involved argues about who should be held responsible.
Furthermore: My car is definitely not a mobile testing lab, especially if I have to pay for it. In that case, one would expect a product that is almost ready for release.
When it comes to finished products, B&B is not particularly known for anything other than turbocharger retrofit kits and electronic throttle control systems (which are in a different market segment altogether).
I hope it's clear which of my experiences are my own and what I know from hearsay (even if exclusively from people I personally know).
Maybe someone has now read the information they needed all along.
In conclusion: The only tuner I know of (which doesn't mean much, as I haven't tried that many), who clearly explains in advance why he tunes a map the way he does and whose final results fully meet the specifications (I've tested it on two cars now, including an AMF-Lupo which I drove myself) is CTK in Kiel. However, he charges hefty prices if you want TÜV approval, and doesn't really negotiate."Personally, I didn't like the characteristic of the AMF-Lupo. The turbo lag seemed to have increased rather than decreased, although there was no visible soot. However, the chip tuning was also designed with a driver in mind who didn't want as much torque at lower RPMs."

Whew, Olaf.
You must have been working really hard at that late hour. 'What a nightmare.'

Don't worry, I often write like this, with a lot of detail, even outside of formal reports. It usually ends up being faster for me than trying to figure out which information is unnecessary, especially when the readers have different levels of prior knowledge.
I would only buy chips for specific types of engines.
The AMF has a very different character compared to the standard version. This means that for "relatively" little money and with relatively low maintenance costs, you get a car that offers significantly more driving pleasure. With the standard chip, you would primarily lose the feeling of control in city traffic and when overtaking.
Cars that look powerful, in my opinion, belong more on the racetrack and don't necessarily reflect my self-image when driving on public roads. I don't own a car to stand out from the crowd, but rather for independence and because I enjoy driving.
"Also, I always need a car in Hamburg that's shorter than a Corsa or Polo (otherwise, it becomes more of a hindrance due to parking spaces than a useful asset)."
SEven with a compressor, I suspect the enthusiasm might be somewhat limited (although so far I've only had experience with the Cooper model).
However, even the Toyota diesel engine now available in the Mini is significantly worse than the standard AMF engine in all aspects (except perhaps regarding noise during cold starts). Furthermore, the Mini is considerably more expensive and not available as a used car due to its newness.
The Yaris diesel isn't cheap, even though it's relatively new, and I don't like the interior design.
Regards,
Olaf.

It's commendable that the company, ********, is addressing its problems.
It's not sad for a boss when they alienate their customers to such an extent that, even after paying a high price for a service that doesn't work properly, those customers are too afraid to address the issue directly with them.
It's really a matter of attitude from the employee towards the customer. If you adopt a reasonable approach, perhaps explain things or try to do so, and establish a sense of "I am welcome here and will be treated accordingly" with the customer, it can make a difference.
If you no longer have an overview of your employees, then something is definitely wrong, isn't it? Have you ever heard of quality management?
It doesn't necessarily have to be at a high level, but it could be a small test: perhaps give a trusted colleague who works in the same company a chip and then ask for honest feedback from them, of course without the employee knowing beforehand. As a manager, you could also call a few employees or customers after 1-2 months to see if they are still satisfied, whether everything meets their expectations, and if there are any suggestions for improvement?
"I think it also gives the customer a sense of quality; they realize there's a human element involved, and it's not just about the money, but about the product and their satisfaction. Of course, with something like that, you're bound to get some honest criticism!"
----> SOMETHING YOU CAN LEARN FROM!
We're all human, and mistakes happen, but if I, as the boss, lose oversight, then something is going wrong.
Perhaps they grew up too quickly.
and I would have preferred to focus on quality rather than quantity!
See you later, Basti. Cu Basti
