1) How does piston tuning interact with the other components of the pump?
Should the springs and the spring contact or pressure plate also be replaced with new parts to improve durability?

'How often do wear marks appear on the printing plate? Are there any established figures for this? This would directly affect the quality of the injection process and, consequently, the performance. In that case, even a very large piston would be of little use.'

3) Does anyone know where to find these?
Rainer only offers the 12mm piston now, which would certainly be too large for the standard jetting of an AFN, for example.

4) Are there 'replica' parts available for this, or can you only use original Bosch parts?

Best regards.
peter

Unfortunately, no answer, but another question: Has anyone here already gained experience with compression reduction – whether through different pistons or a thicker gasket? In my case, a 3-hole gasket was installed instead of the original 2-hole gasket, which resulted in very poor cold starting. No problem in the summer, but really unpleasant from autumn onwards... My layman's opinion is that one should try to raise the temperature threshold below which pre-glow is activated, and also extend the pre-glow time. Is this possible, and perhaps really the solution?

Hello,

If you look at the description of the compression-reducing pistons in the tuning shop, you will find the following:

Tuning-Shop wrote:
Unlike thicker gaskets, which only increase the dead volume between the top of the piston and the cylinder head, thus reducing the engine's efficiency, here a larger combustion chamber is realized in the piston: the combustion air is located exactly where it is needed
.

It makes perfect sense, right?
