05-08-2005, 21:15 Subject: Is the diagnostic lead connected properly to the ABS unit? |

'Since my ABS system is malfunctioning (the car already had this issue when I bought it) and I had to get a new control unit (due to faulty connections), I wanted to test the new unit before installation, specifically to see if the engine control unit recognizes it (the unit comes from a 2000 Ibiza). Of course, it's not being recognized (as you might expect with my luck). Now I tried to check the diagnostic cable for continuity, but there's no connection between any of the pins on the connector and the ABS control unit.'
'Of course, I'm now wondering if the diagnostic cable goes directly from the ABS unit to the connector, or if it splits somewhere along the way, or passes through other control units, which would prevent a direct connection and mean that I wouldn't be able to measure any resistance with my meter. All the other available control units in my car (Passat 35i VR6) are reporting.'
Best regards, WarLord.

Hi,
Could you tell me the part number of your ABS control unit? I might be able to tell you where the K-line, 12V, and ground connections are located on the unit.
I have an ABS control unit here as one of my test systems.
Best regards, Rainer.

I've already studied wiring diagrams. The control unit from the Ibiza should have the same wiring as the one from the Passat (diagnostics on pin 13). Also, the connector is the same.
I don't have the original engine control unit (ECU) number because the block is still installed. The number of the new ECU and block from the Ibiza is 6X0 907 379B.
Best regards, WarLord.

Hi,
Take a look over there.
I'm sorry, but I cannot provide a translation without the actual text content from the URL you provided. The URL only points to a forum thread, and I need the text within that thread to translate it into English. Please provide the text itself.
You can try tuning that device directly to the K-line frequency.
Best regards, Rainer.

Control unit already disabled. *g*
Was'n Forget about it. / Scrap it. / Just let it go.
Best regards, WarLord.
