Hello everyone,

Recently, I had CH and TFL modules coded. Since then, whenever I turn on the high beams, the side marker lights turn off. Can anyone help me understand why? The service technicians couldn't help me! icon_cry.gif

Best regards, Apacherider.

Here's another piece of advice:

Use the search function and familiarize yourself with the topic.

/viewtopic.php?t=10886&highlight=jetta

Help is available, even if it's not perfect. It's a start, though.

Why?

...because the corresponding bit for deactivation is set in the vehicle's onboard control unit.

It appears that there is no law in Germany or Austria that prohibits the use of daytime running lights (DRLs) in conjunction with high beam headlights.

Okay, I'll go and talk to them again and point it out. Hopefully, they can change it.

Best regards, Apacherider.

In principle, yes, but I don't know where.

Byte 17 Bit 5 = Deactivates fog lights when high beam is active

P.S.: A prerequisite is a 21 or 23-byte on-board network control unit.

hello,

I went to see the friendly technician, and it seems he had no idea what he was doing. I showed him the specific bit (byte 17, bit 5), but he couldn't find it. He also told me that the whole thing is related to TFL. Could he be right?

Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

No, he hasn't, he simply doesn't know how to deal with it, or, VAG is refusing to provide him with any materials to refresh his knowledge in that area.

Where do you live? What's your zip code?

Hi!!

"On my Passat, it's a common issue: when I turn on the high beams, the daytime running lights turn off."
Is this the original?
