hi,
I'm new here .
I would like to ask how I can test the Bosch 200 kPa sensor in my engine control unit (ECU) to see if it is working.
Can you desolder it and then measure it?
Resistance or something?

Hi,
Don't you think it would be easier to apply 0-1 bar of compressed air and then check what the control unit is measuring using the diagnostic tool?
At the very least, when there's no external pressure applied, the pressure reading should be approximately the same as that of the ambient pressure sensor. Ideally, both readings should be the same, and depending on the weather and altitude, this value typically falls between 900 and 1050 millibars.
Best regards, Rainer.

I apologize, I forgot to mention that I want to replace the 200 kPa sensor with a used 250 kPa sensor, and I wanted to test the 250 kPa sensor before desoldering the 200 kPa sensor, as it was quite late yesterday .
Don't worry, the STG will be properly adjusted and secured on the roller.

Hi,
"The system that adjusts the control unit to the other sensor should also know what the output signal from the turbocharger pressure sensor looks like, don't you think?"
Or is that you?
Best regards, Rainer.

No, that's not me. It would be nice if it were .
If I drive all the way there and the sensor is broken, I'll have wasted my time and gas.

Hello,
Here's my experience with my V6 TDI:
'I wanted to test the entire range of my control unit's input. However, when the system was stationary, I couldn't measure a value higher than approximately 0.4 bar above the target value. At that point, the control unit went into emergency mode and only displayed 0.4 bar plus 1000 mbar of ambient pressure. This was all happening even though the engine was off.'
I suspect that this is the case for all tax brackets.
It's probably only suitable for hobbyists who know what they're doing.
Good luck, Rainer.

because it's relevant to the topic.
What are the acceptable tolerances for the pressure sensors?
Okay, for example, I'm seeing a value of around 860 mbar from the atmospheric pressure sensor in the control unit, and a value of 960 mbar from the boost pressure sensor (read while the engine is not running). The fact is that both values seem too low and they differ. Based on experience, what are the typical values for these sensors, and what can be done about it?

Hi,
960 millibars is definitely possible, as it depends on the weather and altitude. I find that 100 millibar difference to be a bit much; the difference is smaller where I am.
Or has it already been soldered at the ECU or the boost pressure sensor, like in those cheap "10-cent tuning" modifications?
Best regards, Rainer.

Okay, the control unit is completely original and untouched. However, the workshop once soldered the cable near the turbocharger pressure sensor due to a weasel bite.
- Regarding atmospheric air pressure - we usually have around 1000 millibars - it depends on the weather - for example, currently it's 1033 - I can't say the exact value from back then - but there should be a difference of about 140 millibars between the actual and desired values. If the map for boost pressure limiting starts working at around +/- 860 millibars (which I don't know), then I understand why it's currently 33 millibars higher than usual - and why it performs relatively well in the lower and mid-speed range (it already performs better in cold air). - But is that really the case?

hey,
so senro works
Can the sensors also be recalibrated for a range of 300 kPa?
