Hello, I have decided to continue with the project. I just purchased all the parts needed for the camshaft replacement, EUR 1.500,00 including all belts, pulleys, gaskets, and water pump. Everything that goes directly into the engine (camshaft, followers, and hydraulics) is original VW, the rest is aftermarket. However, a quote from Friendly for this scope was approximately EUR 3,000-3,500!!
I am of the opinion that the engine (excluding the NW) is durable and can also run more than 300,000 km, with proper maintenance. It is important to change the oil regularly (every 30,000 km) (my car's recommendation is 50,000 km LL

, which I don't consider to be regular).
I can't guarantee that you'll be spared from the NW problems. I consider checking the oil filler supports to be unreliable, and that's why everything would still be relatively under control for me, which wasn't confirmed after lifting the ZK cover. NW damage can already be seen in the performance and running culture, so there is no need to worry yet.
If you can do everything/a lot yourself, keep the box. If you have to do everything in the workshop, I think you should separate.
If you want to keep driving for a while, why don't you let your engines fire up, just to make sure everything is still working properly, then you'll immediately see the problem.
27 tkm until the timing belt replacement, meaning you have already driven 93 tkm with the timing belt. I believe that the belt should be replaced sooner (90-100 tkm) rather than driving it up to 120 tkm. I often hear about timing belt failures, and I think the V6 is particularly "susceptible". That, however, is up to each individual...
I will even perform a chip tuning after the swap to the new engine (175,000 km). Some people might definitely scratch their heads about this, especially since I want to drive my car for another 100,000 km
