VAG-COM: Old Versions & Downloads

Hello everyone,
Is there still any VAG-COM software version that uses optocouplers?
I built a simple modem that works with OK's, and I don't want to build another one again.
I would also like to extract only the error block.

If anyone can help or has a trial version, I would appreciate it!

No, unfortunately, that's the way it is.

The latest versions of VAG-COM are no longer compatible with the simple interfaces, which I think is completely ridiculous.

The one that's currently available on the VAG COM homepage is no longer working with 'OK' confirmations.
But maybe someone still has an older version that we could share via email?

Incorrect. Release 311 from our download page still works with Optos.

The 4xx beta versions are no longer compatible with Optos. However, it doesn't really matter because the new features in the 4xx series primarily relate to CAN diagnostics, which wouldn't work anyway with a custom-built interface.

Hi,

I also want to buy an OBD cable. I saw one on elv.de that has a CAN connection. I have VAG COM 3.11 at home (just downloaded it from Ross-tech). Does anyone know if it works with that? Because with VAG, I can only select COM ports, and I want the adapter cable to be a USB version since my laptop only has USB ports.

Does anyone have any tips for me?

According to the description on the ELV website, this device is likely compatible with VAG-COM up to version 311.
(Did they drill a hole in the ELM so that it could also be used as a bare...)
Implementing a USB/232 to K/L-line interface.
I suspect that this component will integrate into the system using a virtual COM driver.
So, you connect it via USB, but it exposes a virtual COM port.
If you're trying to interface with VAG vehicles using CAN, it won't be very helpful because of all the...
certain interesting functions (such as measurement data blocks) were not yet available with the 311.
