ARL Turbo Lag: Causes and Solutions

I noticed the following with my G4 ARL:
When I accelerate in third gear, at approximately 2200 RPM, it feels like there's a slight turbo lag. Then, it takes about half a second for the turbo to build boost.
It's only noticeable within a specific RPM range. Below and above that, there's nothing. You can immediately feel the turbo kicking in with every press of the accelerator. As I said, I only notice it in third gear.
Is that normal? If not, what could it be?

Did you actually measure that in this situation, or is it just a colloquial description that the tractor isn't pulling?

Because simply increasing the turbocharger pressure won't generate power; diesel fuel needs to be injected as well.

If there is boost pressure present, but for some other reason not enough fuel is being injected, the error pattern will look completely different than if the turbocharger is actually "stuck."
