TFSI ECU Diagnosis: Troubleshooting Guide

Hello, can anyone tell me if the engine control units (ECUs) of the TFSI engine generation with MED9.1 can still be accessed via the K-line? The engine is being installed in a vehicle without CAN bus connectivity, which is why I'm asking. According to the wiring diagram, for example, in the A3, the K-line is routed from both the transmission control unit and the engine control unit. This specifically concerns an ECU from a BWA engine.
